Im not much of a programming wiz, but can you not just use the TWL Season 8 bots? but just change it so they say "TWL Season 9"? . And what's wrong with the website...it does the job.

Season 9 shouldnt start too early... I mean, 8 has only just finnish.

Well bleen i think it is clear that thier are many people in TW who want to help TWL and the zone in general. Only a few get that chance tho. Not everyone can program a bot or a website but people are still willing to help with the little things if staff would let them.

There are people out there who could revolutionise leagues but we are stuck with newbies like castromarx, Pure_Luck, Roger The Rabbit etc. And they would do it for free, without the gay recognition of being "Trench Wars Smod".
This zone's gone so far down the shitter I doubt anyone even respects the title TWL Op Smod anymore anyway.

Depends if the same people work on the same code. Many coders hate maintaining and working on other people's code. Most coders look at someone else's code and immediately think that they can write it in a much better way. Many coders believe that every time you rewrite a chunk of code it tends to get better.

I have one 'old school' embedded coder who once told me, "My code is fine, it just doesn't work on the board." LOLOLOL

Point taken. But before anyone can help, what are the objectives? Other than the whining, what is broken and needs to be fixed? How is anyone ‘measuring’ what is broken?

Web Site – What is the objective of the site? If the objective is, or includes, attracting new players to the game, then design is worth talking about. If the objective is to deliver content, then content is worth talking about. My opinion is that the site’s objective is about content, not about attracting new players. So what is the objective of delivering content? What content needs to be fixed or improved? This is the current content:

I recommend that people evaluate this content and offer suggestions for improvement. Once this is identified, it becomes easy to measure whether or the work meets or exceeds expectations.

Bots – What are the Bots supposed to be doing? Which Bots need to be fixed or improved? Once this is identified and agreed upon, it becomes easy to measure the success or failure of the recoding efforts.

yes sleepy.. thats why if we start the thing in october.. most likely mid october, the playoffs will be after the xmas/new year holidays

Somehow I always failed to understand why we need new bots every single season. Why do they need changes, seeing as they worked fine this season?

I didn't read the whole thread, this may have already been answered, but it's something that I really don't get.

If the bot worked fine, use it again and instead of putting effort into making new ones, use that time to improve some other stuff. Since there isn't much to improve, the gap between the seasons could be much smaller.

The site is fine btw, it serves it's purpose, why would you waste time changing that? Change to a new colour seems like a secondary task, kinda like all the big problems were solved and you were looking into details. Worry about what's really imporant and let go of the insignificant details, I'd rather have the season started earlier with the site just the way it is then to delay it because there are changes being made that don't really matter.

It seems like a perfect date to me. Go with it, you have my vote.

IM happy with summer or winter leagues truthfuly...Im just trying to point out some flaws that mite occur with those hollidays being mid-season. I trust you guys (ops) will make the best decision for the zone and the players so im happy either way.
