TWL will start in October 2005 or January 2006. A reset will happen 1-2 months before the start (the last one was for TWSD, needed a reset for some reason). Depending on the number of squads returning to their divisions of TWL (by keeping a certain precentage of their previous TWL player roster) your squad will have to be roughly within the 1-12 range in the division on TWD at the time the cut off is announced, to be given a spot in TWL. Closer to the start date of TWL we'll have better figures on returning squads.

To be more precise, if they don't change the system, 16 squads will get to TWL for each league. But squads who were in play offs last year get there even though they aren't in top 16 of twd, so that's why it's not strictly top 16 of TWD, the squads who get there anyways, might not be interested enough to do that last month spree of games.

On a side note: resetting TWD is stupid. I don't think it should ever be reset. If some newb squads get crazy points by beating up bad squads, there's something wrong with the scoring system. It needs tweaking. Like changing the maximum rating change variable. (Now 50) If I recall correctly, the original value for that maximum score change variable was big so that squads would get to their approximate positions on the ladder quickly, and was going to be changed. Was it ever changed? Hmm... Reading the post:

K (maximum rating change) is set to 50 in this example. We're considering to lower K when a squad plays more games.

Making the probability of winning a bit steeper should also be considered, high rated squads get too much rating from beating up low rated squads. And vice versa, low rated squads lose lots of rating. At one point Mambo was the last of whole TWJD ladder after losing seven games to top 5 squads. (Or close to top.)

Except the ones that dissolved at any time prior to the new season's start (so far Rapid in D, Dice in J&B, Spastic in B and also few squads that have like 1 player left on roster; Venom, Rusher) or doesn't have 50% of the last season roster.
