Basing, where'd you go?

Last season we had 16 squads in TWL-B. I understand that many dissolved or some got inacitve, but out of every squad eligible on the TWBD-Ladder these are the only squads who i can find SOME determination in BD, even the FR Takers has FlagRoom in their name and i talked to their cap Chuck about stuff and he wants to go to TWLB. As does OMGIMONFIRE!(TheFlamers). But i just dont get it, is TWLB going to be 12 squads? 14? 16? How can we get more together. A post like this was started by Asmodeus and went in the right direction but i just dont see how TWLB will work out with the lack of basing competition. Brainstorm guys, think of ways to make basing more fun. What happened to this "TWLB Tournament" that Spikey and I weren't allowed to do because staff was going to do it? Camisade, get active and start pwning again i've seen some games out of you which is defintaely good. Burners keep it up. Red Veil work together play teamwise. TeKs keep it flashin i mean lets go guys pick it up a bit lets get some game going.. Out of the 16 squads last season, i see 6 on this twbd ladder. -final- come back to playing base, Mambo reform. do something to get this to work

Top 10 if you want this league to have any sort of competition. 12 if more show up after ladder reset.

This thread is pretty much identical to the one Asmo made. This has been the same damn thing every year. Whine whine whine, we dont have enough basing squads, whine whine we don't have enough good players, whine whine, the staff sucks - get over it.

TWL will roll around, and as it draws closer, squads will get more competitive, and things will happen. Complaining won't do anything, just play. If it bothers you that much, get some people together and make a squad - it's that simple.

Hell I've captained tons of squads - they were all filled with average, and newer players, I'd take them to private arenas, and the more experienced players would share their experience, and some would flourish, others didn't care. I like looking at top/competitive squads, and pointing out people that were on a low-tier squad that I helped build, they got somewhere. More people have to take the time - to help, and train the newer players, thats it and thats all.

Guys, My squad needs some help. I can not train all of them in the ways of ships because i do not know them. I send them to the Rabs website, but that is mediocre help. It does not help them develop skills. If some of you wish to help me out trying to get my squad to be able to at least compete and give some squads a run for their money, please talk to me. We need help in just about ever ship, our spiders need to work on who to kill and when to shoot and things like that. Our sharks need work on mineing and when to repel and where to go and how to protect terr. Our terr needs work on where to go and where to set port and where to burst and when to burst. (Godspeed please help us with this one) if anyone would like to volunteer it would be greatly appreciated since i am not that great at basing and won't pretend like I am

Don't just send them to websites, get them into ?go base and stuff (not always easy i know). If you see, ex. Diso vs Spastic 8v8 in twbd2, tell your guys to go watch, and pick up some moves. Take your spiders to private arenas, and teach them angles, and when to move.

You can't train one shark at a time either - get two. Play them together whenever you can, and get them to practice alternation and timing in a private arena with your terr. Sure it sounds dumb, but it helps the newer players get the technique down. Once they have the technique, do what we did on Defiancy - play BDs whenever you can! 5s, or 8s, doesn't matter, just play! Try to get cap in base, and encourage your players to do the same, and then add your guys.

It won't happen fast, but if you put the commitment in, so will some of your players. Eventually, you'll form a core player base on your squad, and things will be easier from there, and if your squad falls to shit - don't despair! Just look at where the players went, if 2 of your spiders ended up on A-S or Spastic or whatever, at least you've contributed to TW as a whole.

Im sorry to be the first to tell you, but TWLB is being scrapped this season. Instead being introduced is TWLT, which shall involve, 5 terrs per team, in an open arena.10 lifes each. Expected playing time per round = just over 3 hours.

I would be bothered to play TWLB if I could find a nice squad that plays both TW-J and TW-B. But for now I see no nicer squad than BoZ anyway.

I was thinking; Wouldn't be a good idea to seperate all 3 divisions/leagues.
So that you could play for 3 different squads (one each league)

- If you have a splendid squad that already plays all 3 leagues you can keep that together
- If you only care about one league you can stick to a squad that either only competes in one, or you can join a squad that plays your league amongst the other 2.
- If you want to compete in 2 or 3 leagues you could play for 2/3 different squads
- If you only care about having fun, you can stick to a squad that's fun for you.

Staff makes us believe doublesquadding is a thing of the past, so it shouldn't be a problem. The oppurtunity to play for the best squad in each league should also take away the need to doublesquad for the more gifted players.

Since you no longer have the: 'we need a big roster because we play 3 leagues', you could choose decent rostercap (IE: max of 20 people on a league-roster).

The gain would be that those people who are only excelling in one league can still compete in other leagues instead of only choosing for that one league they have a shot at winning. I think it would boost activity in all the leagues and increase the quality of the teamrosters.

We will keep going and not stop even tho were losing alot that doesnt mean were gonna dissolve were just practicing till twl qualificaitons

Look at the TWBD ladder. There are clearly about 10 active teams, and it really drops off after #10.

Even still, look at last year. The top 10 teams were fairly competitive in TWLB, and after that most teams were 2-8 or worse.

Also, -Final- was pretty dead last year between seasons, but they came back and kicked some ass during TWL.

I definately don't think it's worth going 16 teams this year unless something big changes, but we can probably pull off 14 by the time TWL rolls around.

-F-'ll do something so there's 12 and you've got to hope that two more competitive teams appear, or rather, become more competitive i.e. Camisade. There's also the hope that Ancs n' Rats'll give basing a swing again this season.
