    TWL Idea

    I've been thinking about logistics, scheduling, etc for TWL since ppl always comment how there is such a gap in TWL seasons. This led me to the following idea ... have TWLD, TWLJ, and TWLB NOT have simultaneous schedules. Here's a proposal ...

    Have TWLD and TWLJ be played over whatever span of time a full season lasts (3 months?) ... then have the TWLB season run right after that. This would:

    1) make scheduling a lot less "tight" ... there are always problems with ppl showing just because TWL has limited time slots when all 3 leagues are scheduled simultaneously
    2) create a natural offseason (at least btwn dueling and basing) and allow for a continous league experience throughout the year
    3) allow for separate TWL ops ... one for TWLD and TWLJ and one for TWLB ... I think it's only natural for one person who is actively involved in both wb and jav to head up TWLD and TWLJ while a dedicated baser heads up TWLB. (this is just my suggestion)

    Other nonrelated suggestions:
    - have wider scheduling time slots
    - force each TWL squad to have someone ref at least 1 game throughout the season (only do this if there is not enough volunteer refs)
    - figure out a good championship format (set it in stone) ... I personally hated the 20 min championship game (I mean teams were playing a 15 min format for the entire reg season) ... I'd rather have best of 3 ... but I think it's important that we make it something that most ppl agree is the best way to determine a champion (I'm mainly talking about basing bc I don't remember the format for dueling) ... note: I didn't read the rules so it might be set in stone already

    no, cus twl will then feel like twd. Too much of 1 thing isn't good.

      yeah, twl needs to be more prestige. i think it should be done like once in 2 years instead

        I see half of TW retiring in less than 2 years. Guess that means you can be 3 league champ then.

          It could be a good idea though TWPS was built for this thing, it should be put in there done properly with co-signers

            TWL once every 2 years is kinda ridiculous imo ... and I don't think the majority of the players would want that. In fact from past experience ... it seems like TWers want TWL MORE often instead of less often. Right now it's basically conducted once a year. With the idea I proposed, it basically makes TWL twice a year. I think my proposed setup also matches well with TWD because we basically have TWLJ and TWLD going on for 3 months ... so TWBD squads will be battling for spots for this 3 month interim. Then after TWLJ and TWLD are done, TWLB will start and last for 3 months while TWDD and TWJD squads compete for a spot for the upcoming TWLs for dueling.

            So it might looks like this:
            TWLD and TWLJ ... Jan-March
            TWLB ... April-June
            TWLD and TWLJ ... July-Sept
            TWLB ... Oct-Dec

            Maybe I will make a formal proposal ... but seeing as I'm not involved that much in TW nowadays I'm just a little lazy to do anything more than type words.

                that wouldnt work because of twd reset.. unless they can reset each ladder separately..

                also, im not really a big fan of this idea.. it may look like twl is still an unique thing, but for those 3-league squads, they are basically having twl games throughout the entire year

                  It can be easily adjusted. Like this (follows closely to current schedule setup):

                  Jan-March ... TWLD and TWLJ
                  April-June ... open for whatever
                  July-Sept ... open for whatever
                  Oct-Dec ... TWLB

                  All I'm saying is to have TWLB and TWLD/TWLJ run on separate schedules. It makes it 1) easier for reffing, 2) easier for scheduling, and in my opinion 3) increases the competitiveness of all 3 TWL sections [bc we won't have 3 league squads having to spend so much time when all 3 leagues are running at the same time]

                    I just realized you're sorta right about needing the ability to reset each ladder separately. One quick question tho ... why should we reset the ladder at all? What's the benefit. We're not really crowning a TWD champion (TWL is the place to crown a champion) ... so why not let it run continously? It makes for a more accurate ranking in the long run as well.

                    If you're worried about squads racking up the points and then going afk for a month and then coming back ... then you can penalize them by subtracting pts for inactivity ... or just take them out of the ladder (sort of how it is now).

                      The last couple of seasons the TWLB final has been best of 3 fifteen minute rounds, no?
