I don't think we would need a bot of some sort to be able to catch somebody using the energy hack with CE.. why not just make it so you can see a player's energy if you spec them? I'm sure it's an arena setting since you can see a player's energy in arenas like ?go tournament and ?go racing. With CE you constantly have full energy, so it would be very easy to detect somebody using the cheat.

I think that's the biggest cheat that TWLD is worried about, and you wouldn't need a bot to be able to catch somebody using it.

Do you think 1 ref/op/mod can watch 16 ppl simultaneously in a TWLB match? Remember, specs can't see ship status in TW.

CE has hotkeys. You can hotkey an energy setting instead of freezing it, thus only getting full energy when you need it. It would still be detectable, but it wouldn't be as constant (and obvious) as you implied.

If I remember right there are no full greens in TWLD arenas... so getting full energy out of nowhere would be pretty obvious heh

Use 2 mods too watch the match, like in the NHL (2 refs). granted it won't catch cheaters that easily however, it gets rid of having to make bots to run the game.

Yeah, but I dunno how many mods/refs can attend each match. I def agree though that the more bots in an arena, the worse it'll be (lag-wise and complicating the gameplay). 1 bot to manage the match seems like the max I'd like to see.

Going back to the ref/mod thing. I don't think TW staff has the manpower to get 2 refs/mod to attend each match (emphasis on the "I don't think" part). One option that I think the TWL ops should consider is to make ship status available to all speccers. That way you're getting the spectators involved in watching for possible cheaters. The negative side of that is that it might take a little away from the gameplay ... mainly knowing how much nrg your opponent has. However, since TW is such a fastpace superzone, I don't think ship status helps that much bc by the time you find out the opponent's ship status they've already regenerated their power. In SVS it would take more away from the gameplay (see www.premier.shanky.com forums for plareplane mentioning this option). So if we weigh the pros and cons of letting spectators see ship status, I think pro outweighs the cons.

With the amount of people that they recruit to staff, I don't see why it would be a problem. And it would save them going for months and months making bots.
