anyone arguing against the kicking seems to be pretty stupid "at least he had the balls to admit he cheated" wtf does that mean? 1. its just stupidity to admit that u cheated and him admiting to doing it doesn't remove the fact that he cheated lol. Do what other squads do and watch for cheaters evenin ur own squad :P. its your own captains fault period and I would bet others knew of him cheating yet chose to do nothing

Grapevine is being removed from TWLB.

This comes as repercussion to Mythril (a GV captain) being banned for blatantly using cheats to prize himself bursts and portals during a recent TWBD game.

He openly admitted on forums that he had used said cheats during TWD qualifications to help Grapevine make TWLB.

This matter is not being taken lightly and staff will continue to do our best to get rid of cheating in Trench Wars, especially when leagues are concerned.

As a result of Grapevines elimination from TWLB, TWL will invite Shinobi to take the open spot and we will also change up the conferences to reflect this change. Take this as a reminder and warning, if a squad captain is caught cheating in whichever form during a twd/twl game, the squad will immediately be disqualified from TWL.

i see he used cheats in terr only in a couple of games just for fun.
his actions does deserve a ban, but his actions in pre-twl does not and should not affect the squad because twl had not started at all.

I don't remember cheating in more than 3 games. All of those were just to have fun against squads like ancients and passion. I didn't terr much until recently. Accord/scoop/nethervoid/randedl played most of the twbds as terr. Take away all the points I played terr in and I'm sure we would have still made twlb.

This thread alone is enough to make people not cheat. I don't think anybody thinks "oh if I cheat then I'll only get perm banned and put my squad at risk of being kicked out of twl, no biggie!" TWL rules are pretty straight forward, people won't be dumb enough to cheat during a TWL game... well at least I don't think so.

You act like I cheated in every game I played. I've never cheated in any ship but terrier, and I didn't play terr much. 10% of bd's isn't much seeing as grapevine wasn't the most twbd active squad.

And can you really trust him when he says he only cheated in few BD's. He had a netban from cheating, he promised Rudy not to cheat anymore, got banfree from TW and here we are again.

When I looked at your past BD's, Mythril terred in many of them and also had plenty of kills in each game - perhaps with the help of unlimited bursts/ports, no one can tell. And perhaps he found out how easy it was to cheat without no one noticing it and therefore he would have continue to do it in TWL.

this is exactly what came to my mind. i actually messaged dyn already about this. waiting for a response. Hopefully we'll be able to offer all of gv's base-only players a chance to still play in twlb, unless of course they choose a better squad.

I have a ton of respect and admiration for GV's core guys, but questionable characters like Mega Newbie, scoop (<3) and flibb, who all have either been investigated for cheating in the past, or in flibb's case probably should be now, are still there. Playing devil's advocate for a moment here.. with people like the aforementioned on the roster, I CAN somewhat understand why people would, unfair as it might be, generalize and classify the squad as cheaters. (I, on the other hand, think GV is full of quality apples [or grapes..], but a couple of fuckhead worms just spoil the deal.)

Let's be honest, though.. replacing GV with Shinobi? Those guys couldn't base their way out of a cardboard box. Look, throw Mythril in a fucking cell, flush the key, and let Grapevine, sans (at least one ) cheater, make TWLB at least somewhat interesting. Fuck this "sending a message" bullshit. This message should have been sent months, if not years, ago. Using Mythril as a scapegoat now to try and save face after casting a blind eye to cheating for so long is absolutely asinine, and replacing a competitive squad like GV with, of all squads, Shinobi because of one player's actions is no less ridiculous.

Just my two cents, take it to the bank or drop it in the gutter, your call.
