Standard Waiting Period

I just want to make a post that clarify the standard waiting period, also known as the 1-week cool off period.

First, lets define a TWL Week. A TWL Week is the time period between 1st Sunday 6:00PM EST to 2nd Sunday 5:59PM EST. Example, for this week, week 1 of TWL, its from Sunday, April 23rd, 6:00pm EST to Sunday, April 30th, 5:59pm EST.

How SWP works is if someone joins a TWL squad one day, he will not be allowed to play any TWL games during the TWL week that one day belongs to. Lets say playerA joined squadA today, he will not be able to play any TWL games squadA has this weekend (April 29, 30th). But he will be cleared to play for the following weeks.

So basically, when you join a squad, you cant not playing during the week you joined.

Also, the bot will not check if the player is eligible or not from SWP, so it is the captains responsibility to know whether your new-joined squadmate is eligible to play or not. If someone not eiligible to play is caught playing or played, the squad will forfeit that match. So be cautious.

And of course, name switching should obey the SWP too. If you switch a name, it is treated as joining a new squad.

And since i didnt make this post early enough, SWP will not be in effect for this week. It will be in full effect at the start of TWL Week 2.

I think you should change it to go from saturday morning through to saturday morning.

Example: If my squad plays all of its games before 6PM EST on Sunday, I can leave at 4:45 and be able to play for another squad the next round?

If you do it before the start of the round, the person is guaranteed to be missing a week of games, and I think that is why the rule exists isn't it?

rand is right if the purpose of this rule is to keep people from hopping after a loss and playing the next week on another squad. As of now if we play our game on this saturday, someone can leave the squad right after and play next week if they join the squad after the 12 hours on the twd site. If you want people to have that time to join another squad so that they are not penalized for hopping, then keep in mind that the TWD site prevents people from doing so if they played on sunday

i know where you 2 are goin at, but sat mornin to sat morning doesnt work.
if thats counted as a week. this would have happened. i play a game during this weekend, sat or sun. i leave my squad, join another one, and i can still play next week since saturday now is the start of a new week.

the reason i keep it on sunday is cause, for twl, 95% of the games are played on sunday. Remember that there is a 12 hour rule on twd for joining new squads. so if someone is goin to hope squad after a loss, chances are, that loss will be on a sunday and 12hour rule will keep him out of the new squad until monday.

Do you have to be on the TWD roster for a week, or TWL roster for a week?

It wont come up that a player makes a hop on a saturday often, but I just thought I'd point out it could occur. After thinking about it for a while myself, there really isnt a lot you can do about it either

Your forgetting to tell people about cancelled games neth and moving the schedule back 1 week. i was banned for, what, 6 games cause the schedule got moved back.

I think the rule says you have to sit out for an entire round minimum doesn't it?

Thus, if you didn't join a squad until noon or after Saturday (and the deadline was prior to) of week 1, you wouldn't be playing until week 3. You sit out all of round 2 and whatever remainder of round 1 is left unused.

It'd suck if somebody who left their squad on a Saturday after playing had a big impact on the league. . . I think we should try to make it so that 100% of games are applicable, not just 95.

Say a squad picks up a player who hasnt played for 2 weeks on a thursday then wants to add him that saturday

I'm interested in this also. I just joined a twl squad on a sunday right after 6pm, but I have not played TWL any this year. Will i still have the week cool off? Or is that only for current twl players?

I think so. Someone can just quit TWL ... and rejoin TWL under an alias if they wanna avoid a week of cool off ... that's if we get rid of the cool off week.
