TWL Rule 7.07

7.07 If the second Captain replies to an offered time more than 48 hours after the initial proposal, the first Captain is automatically rewarded the proposed time.



As you can see from the screenshot, I issued the first challenge on monday, somewhere around 11am EST. (The timestamps are royally fucked up, at least imo)
Then on wednesday - after 56 hours - I replied again, just to point out the obvious that Melee hadn't even replied. By that time, the timeslot hadn't been filled, there were still open slots for that time.
I admit it was probably my mistake not to tell the TWL staff to do their job, to force our game for 4pm EST, but rather wait for them to check the situation for themselves.

I'm 100% certain we're not getting the game for 4pm EST now, although we'd rightfully deserve to play then. Just for the future, in case this happens again, I'm just wondering if I was supposed to bother the TWL staff, or are you going to handle your job without players bothering you to do so.

P.S. Or are you just playing this "by the book" literally, so that we didn't get the game because Melee didn't bother to reply... Because that's what the rule says, if you read it correctly.

Its really annoying when squads dont bother to reply and suggest alternate timeslots. It shows lack of respect to everyone and Its almost that I think those squads should be removed from twl (quicksand,melee,grapevine etc?)

That's what the rule states obviously, but my point is that due to staff's late/non-existant reaction to follow the rules, we won't get the time we desired.

Wow Mantra-Slider, Wow. Maybe if you idiots would decide to host more than one game a week on Saturday we wouldn't have to suggest Saturday over and over again. Or just tell us that your not hosting saturday games this TWL beforehand? Alot of us work on sunday so want to play saturday games. Your ignorance astounds me.

From my previous experience this season + preseason, I can honestly tell you that in case the other squad agrees with us we're not getting our time for saturday. I dont want this to be another whine even though I guess it is, but that explains why we havent really cared to schedule with you (you're getting your time regardless)

Well i've had the same thing happen to us as well, where I request a time and the other team never bothers to accept or request a new time, and eventually the time I requested gets filled up by other games. Even though the time I requested got filled the staff gave it to us anyway.

i think the only feasible solution to all of the scheduling problems that inevitably come up every season is to add at least one more day to the twl "week"

i don't think friday would be a good choice because everyone would bitch that they can't be bothered to play and take time out of their super bitchin' awesome friday night plans. and i also realize that a lot of people are working during the week. chances are though, most people are off work by 5 or 6, so if you have one or two extra days a week with a timeslot at 6pm est, and possibly even 7pm est, that's a bunch of extra timeslots to spread matches out over.

and for those of you who are just completely and adamantly against weekday timeslots, go talk to the rshl league operators. they've been scheduling rshl games on weekdays season after season and it's worked just fine for them. i don't see why it couldn't work for us. also, for europeans who might be inclined to argue that 7pm est is just too late for them to play, i do agree with you to an extent, but you would always have the option of trying to go for the earlier weekend times. the weekday times would just be a buffer.

That'd be really shitty for people like me too who work 9-5 during the week on the west coast. So 5pm pst would be 8pm est and by the time I get home its already 6pm pst (9pm est). I don't think there's a problem at all with the days or times we have for matches currently, I think the only irritable thing is other squads taking forever to accept times or request new ones and by the time they do check out the schedule the times you requested are already filled, so sometimes you might have to settle for some time or day thats out of the way from your other games and maybe too early or late.

From my experience so far though, as long as you request a time early and the other squad slacks off on checking the schedule and replies late or something, the staff will likely still give you the time you requested even though it's filled. So I have no problem with the whole scheduling process so far.
