what can we do to help get more matches to be played on saturdays?

TWLD TWLJ and TWLB shouldn't be played simultaneously. Each should be 3 months of the year with a month break in btwn each. That way TWL is throughout the entire year AND the scheduling problems will be less of a problem. For example:

Jan-March = TWLD
April = rest
May-July = TWLJ
August = rest
Sept-Nov = TWLB
Dec = rest

I'll extend the idea even further. If we have a normal 16 squad TWLD for example with the setup above, each squad can play 2 games per Sunday. Thus each squad can play EVERY SQUAD ... thus one big 16 squad conference and the top 8 make it to playoffs. This makes for a more accurate measurement of who should make playoffs (as opposed to our current 2 conference setup with only a few cross-conference games).

I think this would rock. It would give TWD some purpose while twl is on. at the moment i have zero motivation to play TWD as the ladder is going to be reset anyway after TWL.

Saterday games suck btw :P I go out on Sat nights which means i leave my house approx 2/3 EST (american time) sunday is best day for games as i am hungover and lazy so in the perfect position to play subspace

First of all squads like -FINAL-, Ancients, Sk8, Disoblige etc. (3 league squads that have played like 3+ seasons and keep this game alive) should have EXCLUSIVE rights to sunday games. Well call me what I am, an asshole. But the squads that put enough time in to play 3 leagues should be treated with a little more, considering they put more in. More then half the 1 league squads last one season or less? Why punish the good squads because of the little squads instability. I'm only saying this as what we should do now, because an entire reform of the system this far in is unlikely. We can worry about the big changes later, for now, give the squads that have been here longer the respect they deserve. Maybe that will motivate these one league squads to be a little more competitive, this is TWL right? the best of the best? stop being fucking nicey nice. This is suppose to be top caliber shit.

I think Knockers was right - you just put a completely useless negative twist on it. What Dutch_ suggested would be discrimination against the 3-league squads (which I must say, are in this case pretty much THE title contenders in every league). My suggestion would be adding the 6PM timeslot for sunday. 1 AM might be a bit too late for a few finns (probably including me) but there are plenty of squads that could live with it. This would reduce the stress put on the 3PM timeslot, as it's the only timeslot that's included in all possible "3-in-a-row" combinations.
Why not 12PM? To be honest, I think 1 AM is easier to manage than 8-9 AM for west coasters.

All squads should be treated equally, so no point whining about the 1 league/3 league squad thingys. =P Both are equal. Every game is as important to 1 league squad as it is to 3 league squad. 3 league squads just have more of them important games. You can't solve anything going that way. =P

As said, Sunday is really the best day for most squads most of the time and even when it isn't for one squad, it usually is for their opponent. That's obvious from all the posts so far (haven't read them all).

The best solution (with the current twl system thingy =P) would be to add some more time slots. I don't know what time slots are best and to who, but there are time slots on sunday that are good for euros and americans. Those slots already exist. But where should the new time slots be added?

09est - euros (euro vs euro)
10est - euros (euro vs euro)
11est - euros (euro vs euro)
12est - euros (euro vs euro)
13est - euros and americans (mixed vs mixed)
14est - euros and americans (mixed vs mixed)
15est - euros and americans (mixed vs mixed)
16est - euros and americans (mixed vs mixed)
17est - americans (america vs america)
18est - americans (america vs america)
19est - americans (america vs america)
20est - americans (america vs america)

euro where mostly only europeans can play. mixed where both, americans and europeans can play (allowing games euro vs america and mixed lineups too (obviously these 4 time slots would be the most wanted)). americans where mostly only americans can play.

Thats alot of time slots and not all of them are needed anyways. I might be mistaken on some of those. 13est can be a bit too early for some americans and dunno if 9est is too early for some euros. Some euros can play all night long but some ppl (like me) go bed early and 16est is pretty much the latest i can play. =P

It's a whole different thing, how you organize those and it prolly doesnt work anyways, cause there isnt really squads whos lineup is pure euro or american. =P But i just wanted to put in something that looks like it could work if... =P if it could!! =D and there could be some abuse, like scheduling games too early or too late on purpose... but its all about how well its done. =) Anyways thats only a suggestion for making more games playable on sundays, 'cause saturdays really suck... :fear:

Yeah Elb's post makes sense, but its still, regardless of anything, going to ALWAYS be hard to schedule. No matter what system is in place, squad captains are going to try and get their preferred time without caring if the other team cant make it.
