TWLD Mid-Season Predictions

I cannot see how people would predict us 3-7 just cause we lost our games vs syndicate, -final-, quicksand and shinobi....
maybe shinobi is dissappointing... but those other 3 can just happen...
We pretty much had our hardest games...

We have Heavy, Squad!!, boz, dice and united force still coming...
You could win those 5 and end up in play-offs...

i think the best squad from one conference plays the worse in the other conference. so it'll look something like this:

West Conference:
1st place: A
2nd place B
3rd Place: C
4th place: D

East Conference:
1st place: W
2nd placE: x
3rd place: Y
4th place: Z

Playoffs:
A vs Z
B vs Y
C vs X
D vs W

Refer.. the only time you play a squad from the other conference in play-offs is in the Finals.

I thought we switched to cross-conference playoffs to help fix the possibility of the conferences being uneven. But maybe I don't remember correctly. You think this is something they should mention in the rules.

well if you did cross conference playoffs, what happens if 3 squads of the same conference win? then you have a same conference playoff game and an opposing one. thats fucking retarded. I thought i had remembered something about cross conference playoffs before on TWL, but I hadnt paid any attention to the league structure. Thats more fucked up than +/- instead of head to head

How's it fucking retarded? In the playoffs, the best teams are going to win, the not-so-good ones are going to lose, no matter when or where you match them. The best team will emerge whether they beat the "second best" squad in the quarters, semis, or finals.

Just keep play-offs the way they have always been... Facing teams in YOUR conference, and then facing a team from the opposite conference in the finals.

Thats exactly the same Idea around keeping the conferences together during the playoffs. Thats why they are called Conference Championships and ect in most of all sports.

Figured since TWBL has it's own mid-season predictions so should a more important league. I put these in current 1-16 order on the TWL site.

1. Syndicate - (5-0) - Not much to say about this squad, one of the old powerhouses, and maybe the only one left after the kind of season that -Final- has been having. I would have to say that the most dominant player on this season and probaly in TWL right now would have to be Colonel from this squad. It's fairly obvious that this squad will be in the playoffs this year, and chances are will be in the Finals as well. (Ending up: 10-0)

2. Dice - (5-0) - Three months ago I honestly expected that Dice would not be making it into TWL-D with a major lack of warbirds. Mega Newbie turned this around and now Dice is a Major player in this league. I don't think that dice is exactly led by any one player but more along the lines that nobody chokes. I can see Dice vs Syndicate in the Western Conferance championship fairly easily. (Ending up: 8-2)

3. Sk8 - (4-1) - Hmm what is there to say about sk8, their warbird lineup is led by Geisha (Baserman36_x) and they will make it to the final eight squads definitely. I will though that this is probaly one of the harder squads to predict, they have a couple of hard games in the back half of their season. (Ending up: 7-3)

4. Disoblige - (4-1) - The TWL nice guys, unlike most of the squads these days that have picked up Quicksand's shit talking squad-ego these guys are playing nice and being nice. Led by Deprecate (last standing) I expect a good back half of the season for this squad having only Syndicate and Sk8 as real threats. (Ending up: 7-3)

5. Ancients - (3-2) - Well im trying to keep this article as fair as possible, and also trying not to talk any shit while doing it so it will be taken seriously. However Ancients is ranked a little too high for their skill level I would say, once the effects of their 50-0 win clear up a bit things will change. This squad has a back half to a a TWL season I wouldn't wish on my ex girlfriend. Speaking of ex, it appears Exe is the warbird to beat on this squad. (Ending up: 5-5)

6. Quicksand - (3-2) - Ahhh good ole Quicksand, home of the lame. Although we haven't been having quite the season so far I was expecting, I am happy with our performance, so far we have been led by players like Surfer, and Deluge who tear it up nearly every game. After Sk8 and Dice we have a fairly easy season but anything can happen as we have already found out the rough way. (Ending up: 6-4)

7. Shinobi - (3-2) - After a rough end of the TWD season, where shinobi barely scraped it's way into the leagues, things are really shaping up for this squad. I was expecting bad things, probaly a 3-7 season they have started teaming pretty well and now I expect them to definitely make the top 4 in their conferance. (Ending up: 6-4)

8. United Force - (2-3) - *Angry Mutters* Quicksand's current enemy in terms of shit talking has started out with a fairly higher than expected season this year, led by Ducolover, UF has already gotten through the tough half of their season with a decent record. I expect this will probaly be the #4 squad in the Western Conferance when the regular season ends. (Ending up: 6-4)

9. -Final- (2-3???) - I think this is the squad that everyone is wondering about right now, I mean it's -final-, I think the lack of caring and playing has finally caught up. The lack of playing Sika has really hurt as well I believe. But I doubt they are really worrying, with still five games left and ancients above them I think they will be the #4 squad in the Eastern Conferance at the end of the regular season. (Ending up: 6-4)

10. Squad!! - (2-3) - Squad!! you have had a heck of a season so far, alot better than I expected from you, I think all too many people thought you were going to be one of this years 3 possible Gantz's. I think though, that you will be repeating the first half with your back half. But I think the entire TWL community has to give you some props for showing everyone you could win some games out here. (Ending up: 4-6)

11. Heavy - (2-3) - I think the biggest problem this squad has had this year is lack of leadership, and lack of commitment. All season we haven't really seen a playing Apok, and every week Heavy loses seems to be a week where their starters don't show up, whether it be Badly Owned, Caos, Widespread, or Apok himself. It really is ashame, cause I caught a few of your games where you had your starters and you had a definite chance to make playoffs this year. (Ending up: 5-5)

12. Boz - (2-3) - Boz - Showing Trench Wars that javs can warbird one week at a time. Wow is all I have to say after that upset you pulled vs Sk8. Led by Maybe Exit I think you will probaly have a decent season this year, if not quite enough to get into the playoffs. (Ending up: 5-5)

13. Pirates - (1-4) - Man.. after you pulled an amazing TWL season out of your ass last season I was kinda hoping to see it again, but it doesn't look like is going to happen unfortunately. Shame to see a squad with so much talent doing so bad in TWL. (Ending up: 3-7)

14. Warpath - (1-4) - Well, I don't know what to say to you guys except better luck next year. You just weren't quite ready to face off with the calibur of players in TWL. (Ending up: 2-8)

15. Speed - (1-4) - ^^^^ (same as warpath) (Ending up: 2-8)

16. Locket/Grapevine - (0-5)(ouch) - Welllllll you are a replacement squad for Grapevine, only two of those losses are yours even though you took them over. I think you are this years Gantz, sorry. (Ending up: 0-10)

And I will even give you something that the TWLB predicter didn't! My picks for the All Star Game. Even though this is a little early honestly.

yup wark, just one of those type of seasons. had a special run last year, lot of the players were pretty committed. but this time around, it seems like we lack that same intensity. hopefully it can spark up and we can get more of a consistent lineup like last season, but I haven't seen any signs of that happening yet. anyways, gl to the other guys who are doing well so far.

I know what you mean Death, I think that is a problem for alot of squads to be honest with you, no just -final-, but like I said in my predictions, I do think you guys will pull through and make it to the playoffs and probaly still go pretty far this year, your unusual lack of sika the first half of the season seemed like it hurt quite a bit, and his lack of activity also hurts, I hate saying that one player could make that much of a difference in a team game such as LD is, but they really can. and -Final-'s key player is Sika.

LOL guys are you crazy? Playoffs ALWAYS been cross-conference. #1 from East plays #4 from Est and so on.

cross-conference playoffs make a lot of sense since we don't get to play vs everyone in regular season. without cross-conference you can't really eliminate the risk of having made uneven conferences in the beginning of the season. plus i personally like the idea of getting to face more than 9/10 squads in a season. i personally think it's really strange that there's a great possibility that Disoblige won't get to face Dice all season..

izor, of course i rather face someone less aggressive than you guys in the first round playoffs, it makes it easier for us to gain control over the match.
