You know, everyone wants it. Several squads are good enough to get it, but will they? I personally don't think any squad will this season, though it is possible. It's funny, two seasons in a row now we've had one squad win a Double Crown.. but fall just short of the greatest title. Syndicate in Season 7, took LD and LJ, and dicE in Season 8 with LJ and LB. Now both these squads are entering the playoffs together for the first time.. and they've never looked better.
Most would think these squads to win it all, but strange things brew in Season 9. More and more 'newbies' are stepping up, and causing a stir among the elder veterans of the game. Other veterans are also waking after a rather lengthly slumber (take Disoblige for example). Another contender for the coveted Triple Crown.. and my personal favourite not just because it's the squad I happen to be on, but just because alot of people doubted Disoblige could even make playoffs this season.
Again, and again, we have our fellow long-timers on Sk8. Honestly I hope to god they win something this season. They've been at it longer then anyone else without tasting victory - how much longer can they put up these fights only to be beaten back to the upcoming season? They have the stuff they need to get a triple crown, but the odds seem to be stacked rather high against them.
-FINAL-, our champion warbirds from last season. They seem to be getting back into the groove, and will definatly put up one hell of a fight to defend their title (I hope). They too have always had a strong bunch of javs, and being runners up to dicE last season proves they've got what it takes to win a basing title. Will the lust to hold their LD title in turn result in a triple crown? I don't think so, but in this game, anyone can surprise you.
Lastly, the upcoming squads. How much effect will they have in the playoffs?
Will they upset the serious contenders? Will squads like BasingCrew, Spastic, or Anti-Scrub take hold of the LB title and stay the crown for another year? Either way, I see this TWL to be the most exciting in a long while.. let's hope the playoffs are as good as I think they'll be
