TWL Stuff.

With TWL hopefully just around the corner, I was thinking now would be a good time to give a few suggestions on how this upcoming seasons TWL could be better. I have already said most of mine before, but that was quite awhile back so. I will just repeat most of them, but I think all of TW would sorta like to know the TWL ops definite plans for the league this season.

Bracket A - #1,8,9,16.
Bracket B - #2,7,10,15.
Bracket C - #3,6,11,14.
Bracket D - #4,5,12,13.

Week 1
1v8 2v7 3v6 4v5 9v16 10v15 11v14 12v13

Week 2
1v9 2v10 3v11 4v12 8v16 7v15 6v14 5v13

Week 3
1v16 2v15 3v14 4v13 8v9 2v15 3v14 4v13
So on until the end of week six.

Combine A and D, B and C -> also re-arrange the teams according to ranking from 1 to 8, starting on week seven.

Upper Bracket - #1,4,5,8
Lower Bracket - #2,3,6,7


Semifinals (3 rounds) (week 11)
1 plays 4
2 plays 3

Winners in the finals (3 rounds) (week 12)
So anyways, that is how the teams would be broken down for each league, the length of the season would be reduced, but especially after the first reduction of teams, there would be more weeks with purely quality games, never having to worry about squads deciding to dissolve or not play, since the top teams that actually have a chance to move on are still in the league, and the teams that gave up will be gone already. I was just wondering if this is in fact the league system we are going to be using this year, and what other definite changes are in place so far?

I personally believe that TWL shouldn't let as many squads in as it has before, 16 was a good number when we had more people playing. With fewer people playing, fewer squads are competing and the level of competition is lower. Lower the number of squads allowed into TWL and make it a challenge to actually qualify for each division, then you'll have few if any squads that don't show to their games.

TWD Staff doesn't have a say as to what changes are made in TWL.

I agree with what reaver stated. It is a smart idea, having so many teams drop out and not show players. Kind of makes for a bad twl. Maybe with challenges of games being harder. TWL will be what it was two years ago when I played for simulate. It was so fun. :turned:

Yeah teams dropping out is really what partially ruined TWL besides a few crappy TWL Staffers. We don't need less teams in TWL, last years TWL had some surprising wins from some teams nobody expected to do well, so even the 16th ranked team has a chance to pull a good upset. That is why I think that we should cut down the teams mid-TWL season like I said above. First round would be 16 teams, six weeks, with 4 conferances/4 teams per conferance. The top two from each conferance would advance to the round of eight. then we would get rid of the dead weight and most of the squads that would quit/dissolve anyways. Then we have another six weeks of TWL with the eight best squads, so six more weeks of good games. Then the semi-finals with the best of each conferance, and finally, the finals with the two best.

I agree with Reaver. There's like 4 squads or something on a competitive level nowadays
