TWLB spider limit?

I heard a rumor that in order to make TWLB more interesting staff will be placing a 4 spider limit and squads must then elect one special ship like, wb, jav, lanc, or the dreaded weasel.

Is this true?

If so, shouldn't the twbd bots be upgraded so squads can only play max 4 spiders in 8v8 matches? Prolly 7v7 should also be limited to 3 spiders.

This would be a good upgrade to basing play to make it more exciting. Doesn't everyone think 5v5 spiders is a yawn fest?

Instead of limiting ships we should make all ships open. Yes. I'm saying we should allow multiple terrs, many sharks and even levs. I really think that would be the best way to diversify the basing game, since it's been pretty goddamn stale for the past three years. Instead of limiting the options we have and make it EVEN MORE stale please give us the chance to use our imagination with the lineups and still have them be viable.

The spider will probably still be very much used but imposing limits to control what ships the best of the best use just to babysit them in order "not to break the mechanics of basing" is pretty stupid. What staff has made is a boring mechanic that allows for little to no strategic differentiation between teams.

If you look at how the basing metagame has changed within the past few years you only notice some minor changes that have pretty much only been in order to somehow break the cram or keep the cram alive longer, not invent something new.
