Even thou none of the ppl running this game get paid and r doing it out of the "goodness of their heart" and on their own time. I think the mods in this zone specifically should be re-evaluvated. Way too many things r being done to those who are "friends" with mods over the other ppl who are considered nobodies. So with that said, fuck rudy, fuck kim, fuck pascone. Let fistula in lj and u should of let quicksand in ld. Oh well nothing can be done.

Anyways, I'm done arguing our case seeing as we are getting nowhere against this small group of obstinate staff members who have too much online ego to admit that a mistake has been made, despite the overwhelming objections by the tw population, as is evident in game and here on the forums. But of course TW is not a democracy, so why would player opinion have any merit here.

Next year, please dont bother wasting any time with the posting of any rules, just do what you want and we will just force ourselves to accept staffs ridiculous decisions.

You guys played 17 jd matches in all those weeks of qualifying... You obviously didn't care enough to get enough points to be sure of making twlj...
Since you don't care enough now, you probably won't care enough during season... You just see this as your 2nd league and probably only play it since 3 or 4 people like to play javs and are a few of your better wb's and prefer a 2 league squad...
Plade on the other hand has put a lot of effort into getting into TWLJ cause they like that league the most out of all leagues... Just cause they momentarily lack the skill to beat the average line of one of the better teams in lj didn't stop them from playing those constantly, to get better...

Why on earth's name would a Staff person, that is supposed to run the Zone and TWL properly, put in Fistula over Plade?
I do understand however that we should follow rules, eventhough a lot of these rules are just plain retarded... Ofcourse a normall person would put Plade in TWLJ over Fistula... this however is not in the rules, because by the rules Fistula would be in... that's why I say "screw these rules" and let the better play... just like all teams should be picked for "eliteness" and not for having some high rating somewhere on some site about some division shit no one really gives a fuck about....

To add on to my ramble a lil thing so Fistula can bite the soar apple!!..:

There is no way you can ask for a formula now, because it's pretty easy to hustle a bit with figures and make it look sound.

I think Pascone did a good job as TWL-op. But I also think this should be his last TWL. This is wrong. Keep pointing us at reading the rules. Why not, instead, point us at the section you based your decision on. Because reading the rules I still don't see how you could use an average opponent rating as a variable when it's obviously not representative for the quality of a team. It isn't even explained in the rules, just mentioned.

So Plade proved to you they are willing to play, but will lose, to good squads. That is good enough for you to invite them into TWL?



Don't get me wrong. I don't know Fistula, I have heard of Plade. I don't play TWL-J, I might play a bit of TWL-B. For me it doesn't matter who gets invited, I just focus on your biased decision and don't see how you can be so stubborn.

A qualifying match would be such a good solution to this matter, it would ultimately show who deserves the spot.

But it seems that you have something to lose if Plade doesn't make it in.

There, that wasn't so hard... So our 17 points don't make up for the 26 extra average rating points, I'm guessing. Thus squads that do most of their battling at the beginning of a TWD qualifying round will always be at a disadvantage to squads that do their battling at the end of a qualifying round because the ratings are that much higher. Thus, stability of a squad is actually penalized.

Yes pascone, we've all read the rules. You've made it perfectly clear that the rules you have stated only mean squads will be CONSIDERED. I honestly don't care about javs, I just don't like how staff can throw around their weight whenever they feel like it... I don't see why you didn't put that formula in the rules from the start. This whole thing would have never started. I still think that the average rating is very flawed and using it is generally not a good idea. But whatever, I'm done with this.

Just as a kind of preamble, I think Pascone didn't have any ulterior motives and made the decision based on what he thought was best for the league and within his interpretation of the rules.

That said, while I'm no history expert, I don't recall a squad ever being excluded for falling within the Top 12/Top 16 with the minimum games requirement since the inception of TWD in 2003 when it comes to qualifying for TWL.

In the past the "included but not limited to" phrasing Pure_Luck quoted from the official rules has been interpreted solely by mods as a measure to prevent squads abusing newbie or fake squads to get into TWL. Since various upgrades to TWL we now have an "Average Rating" with that specific category being written into the rules.

To my knowledge nobody has ever qualified for TWL abusing newbie squadrons or whatnot and then been expelled.

Even if there was such a case, Pascone's ruling would be the first intervention or judgment call since TWL squads were hand picked in 2002 prior to TWD given Fistula's rating, minimum games played and average rating.

The open-endedness of the rules is designed to prevent abuse, of which Fistula is not guilty given the prior posts and data available. Even if Plade is more worthy, talented, active and jav-oriented, it's irrelevant - they failed to qualify, as did Quicksand.

QS is the biggest group of whiners and complainers and nobody heard Izor crying foul.

While I think Plade is qualified to play TWL, they didn't qualify, and Fistula should be in.

This judgment call is a slippery slope to go down, even with the best intentions in hand (which I think Pascone has). Plade is qualified to play TWL. Putting them or whoever else into TWL wasn't a bad or stupid decision, it was simply the wrong one.

well it is inconsistent, but the bottom line is that squads should qualify anyway and not put themselves in that position. Still, metalkid is right. When TWD first resets, all squads are at 1000 rating so your ave r is going to be down low. Toward the end even average skilled squads have around 1200 or so, maybe a little less in JD. So a squad that comes in and plays the same squads will have a better ave r because of when they played who the played, and not just who they played. I've advocated ave r being taken into consideration for a while now, but only really when there were squads like heavy around that were notorious for picking on newbs
