Every goal has been reached, everything pushed to its limits, legends made and record set that will never be broken, all good squads and names are taken. My point is everything in subspace has been done, perhaps it is time for a subspace II where names and squads are limited and new records may be set.

Well, we tried this a few months ago sarger.

Advertising, new website, banners, myspace, ... People gave up on those ideas very quickly, which was a bad thing. It was all working out. People were visiting myspace, etc.

What we need is even more advertising, google adwords, I still have a bunch of them.

More sites like MPOGD.com..

It does "make me sad" that there aren't a lot of people who care about this game dying.

best solution for the lack of available names etc etc is to reset everyname which hasnt been used in over 18 months including squad names....practically every good name/squadname isnt even used anymore or EVER used because of name horders. Also....you complained about all these whiney threads saying tw is dying, well u just did exactly that AND didnt put forward any original ideas that havent been posted in those 'whiney threads'. Im interested in seeing what doc flabby is creating behind the scenes.:fear:

The whole "reset names that haven't been used in 18 months" suggestion has been thrown out and rejected more times than I care to think about. The problem with this is that accomplishing this would not be a Trench Wars policy; it would have to be an SSC Network movement. No one (besides PriitK) in Trench Wars staff has the ability to reset names or squads. This would have to be agreed upon by I'm sure the Subspace Council, or at least all of the Billing Administrators and Operators. By the billing staff, I'm talking about people like PriitK, Ghost Ship, Mackieman, Pointman, Kewlair, BlueGoku, Wonderer, and Mom. Now, very few of these people are actively logging into the game, and NONE of the administrators are logging in frequently.

It is possible that Trench Wars could get the ball rolling on this should someone be able to get a hold of PriitK and perk his interest in the matter, but otherwise, it is out of Trench Wars staff and players' hands and the whole idea is a little too unrealistic to even consider or debate further.

best thing anyone in this game can do to help this game is to tell your friends about it and actually showing them how to play.

I did that, they started laughing and called it trash (which it is). This game, by all means is trash. Sorry, but there's no hope for Trench Wars if people don't find this game appealing enough to start playing it. As Sarger said, give it 2-3 more years before it dies completely. Oh well.. move on to bigger and better games instead of fruitlessly trying to appraise and promote this old junk. Staff already implemented all the advertising strategies possible (those that are free of course). We have ads on youtube, facebook, myspace, and pretty much all the gaming sites you can think of. Admit it, the results were horrible. And any more advertising would just be rubbing it in peoples faces. So what if this game is free? You'd be amazed the kind of free games you can get through bittorrent. So "What can we do?" The answer is nothing, unless somebody wants to invest in truly effective advertising such as gaming magazine or TV ads.. or perhaps have Stargazer host 48 hour hostathons?? That would bring some crowd in, and maybe the game would last what.. a year longer? All there's left now is a matter of loyalty of current players.

if you havent noticed, pub is full of players that are at a majority, new

if we never got new players, obviously pubs wouldn't be full all the time would they?

if players are leaving after coming to the game, then just change up pub, make it fun i duno... keep purepub or something who knows

the fact remains, we DO get new players still

Well for what its worth it did revive some peoples interest in this, and got me in touch with people who have similar ideas to mine. Again if someone is interested in taking part in this, message me through forums or by ?message and I'll tell you what exactly we're planning to do.

Getting new people into the game means shit if the current playerbase doesnt swallow their pride and actually tries to behave somewhat good.

75%+ of players are at least annoying whiners if not total fucktards. Why would new players want to listen whining and flaming in 10 years old 2d game?

Trashtalking is fine, but when people almost try to get rid of every new, or not so skilled player in the game with their continous whining... :death:

I agree, and in other words: We're too much of a bunch of abandoned assholes to be able to make new friends. Just look at that thread that new Lancaster dude made in Trench Wars forum a while back. The tone got condecending almost from the start.

Half the players in pub are people killing time, and the other half are regular pubbers. If we do get new players in this zone, the numbers are too small to even be worth mentioning.
