The squad exsists becasue there's a number of people that have been in TW a long time that actually care about British Squad and have had to persistently fight against people naturals urge to join a squad that maybe be more competitive in leagues but do not have the tradition and close atmosphere BS holds.

Sure there are times when members think about actually playing with a squad that will win alot more matches in leagues, but then again most of BS don't hold winning games as the most important factor for playing the game.

When we do win a game it means alot more to us. When we came 4th in TWL in one of the first seasons when Slowbob run it, this was like winning the league to us. You cannot compare us to other squads really becasue no other squad recruits from solely one country, we pride ourselve on our history and ability to survive when other squads are constantly trying to pick of our best players. This means the competitive nature of BS will always fluctuate over time more than others.

What BS dont have a problem with is playing leauge games. Just look at the number of TWD/J we have played. True baseing games are more difficult for a number of reasons. Time Zones dont help, remember we are all on GMT! , lag!? now the server has moved to the states how difficult is it to have 8-10 of us on lag free? Also time of the matches are alot longer than the other games. So while BS have only played 1 league basing game this is not for the want of trying. Often on chats we are all up for a game and lag dictates we dont play the game. But don't somehow question BS's commitment to league's because nothing it further from the truth. The effort it takes us just to win games and continue to fly the flag (for over 5 years) is no luck but hard work.

You talk about stability but I can assure you we will last alot longer than Melee and others floating about. The problem with elite squads is they are full of total cunts that move on to another squad at the drop of a hat. One thing BS is is Stable.

Now Randedl if anyone needs to shut the fuck up and stop talking shite its YOU. If your gonna comment on my squad then atleast get yer facts right.

you can say that british squad will last longer than melee, it might, melee has managed to keep going for a decent length of time now with no look of slowing down.

the thing is, can you call it "stability" when any of the ppl you have who are capable of playing a respectable game leave? or if your roster changes so much because once in a while "members think about actually playing with a squad that will win alot more matches in leagues"? i think it is far more respectable for a squad like pallies in dd, or melee in bd (yes, my own squad) to come along, stick around, and compete rather than brit squad to come along, maybe stick around a little longer in name, go through many many different rosters (because those players keep leaving) and have an environment of "When we do win a game it means alot more to us."

i notice you didn't remark on my question about brit squad getting awarded a twlb spot and not earning it, so i'll assume i am correct for the moment, if that's okay? now, twl has a new rule dealing with replacement squads this season. read 2.0.4 if you will. they no longer award the spot, or even hold those little nifty tournaments. they take the top ranking squad in twd, which will keep running (this is my interpretation right now, if i'm wrong some1 correct me). well acidmouse, i'm going to take a guess that this rule, among other factors, is inspired by british squad's less than spectacular history of play since being away, and thus, the public outcry to have it remove from at least 1 league. to summarize, squads now have to earn their twl spot.

now how about british squad's ability to play twjd and twdd games. i would hardly call 13 jd games played a very strong ability, and the "ability" to win 3 even less of a reason to bring up that argument. being able to slap together 4 or 5 ppl to play a game doesn't "enable" you to actually play. laying down and letting a squad roll all over you isn't my concept of playing, especially when your roster is almost at 40 now (no knock on that, but hey, 40 ppl and 13 games played, that averages out that each player on your roster has played 3 4vs4 games in the last however many months of twl). twdd? well, i don't wanna count, but that looks like what, 50, 60 games played? i dunno, correct me if i'm way off. this total, over what, 3 months, 4 months of twdd play? maybe more, but that's my guess. now 50 or 60 games over a third of a year, with a squad of 40, is nothing to be proud of. in my quick glance over most, if not all, of your wins were against less than stellar squads, and i'm guessing you got rolled over against any twl style squad. hey, brit squad is the perfect twd squad, and twd will go on over twl, so i suggest you boys take full advantage. but again, playing a game and getting dominated to a laughable point isn't really "playing a game" now is it? i have no real problem with u guys bein in twld, aside from maybe the fact i want to see pallies in, you'll get rolled over on most days, but that's your choice and you've shown up in matches for the most part.

i have no real grudge against brit squad, it's a cool concept in my opinion. but if you want to start acting snide, hey, i'll dance. maybe some of the squads who will make twl this season won't last the duration of the season, then again, only time will tell. i am, however, disgusted at your remarks that "because you are a stable squad, that should get/keep you in leagues". i assure you, my friend, that there more than just brit squad in terms of "stable squads" and that some of them are on the outside looking in in terms of getting into twl. don't think you are the only squad that can last more than a season, because you aren't, and the others manage to hold on to the majority of their "skilled" players.

that's my opinion, be arrogant and look down on it all you want. if you cared about public opinion maybe you'd take a step off of your pedestool and listen to what the majority of ppl (that aren't on your squad/island) are saying.

i look very forward to meeting your "stable" squad in twl. try to field 8 in base will ya?

I think when The Pusher refers to stability, he means overall squad stability. That doesn't mean that BS should need to play a million basing games to prove that we exist and want to base. In any case, not playing TWBD matches doesn't prove that there is not commitment to basing either - a squad can base amongst themselves in preparation to TWL if they wished. On the other hand, we could play 100 games half-heartedly, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're committed to basing...

Anyway it's not up to TWL squads to prove themselves, it's up to those that want to join. If they show commitment and squad stability, then so be it. I'm sure Melee will have their chance in the near future, if they perservere.

i got bored so i'll pick apart another message:

yes you could practice amongst yourself. . . do you? and no, pub doesn't count there sparky.

and no, squads don't get into twl because of how many games they have played. they get in on their results in those games, in a minimum of 10 played. you guys neither have results OR 10 games played in 1 league, and it is a little bit of an insult to squads trying to get in who do meet both requirements. "oh, we're in, we don't have to do anything xept show up to twl games, get our asses handed to us, then go have some tea and laugh about it afterwards". (okay, that was really synicle)

anywho, a squad's history should only carry it so far. if they have no interest in a specific field (twlb in this instance) then do the honourable thing and drop out! it won't make you guys less of a squad. it'd be a curtious step aside for more deserving (skillwise) squads. you'd still be your little group of fellow island dwellers, if you don't care about basing league, which it doesn't seem you do, what difference does it make if you don't get to go play half an hour worth of a game where you are just getting dominated anyways?

Errm, British Squad is british squad because the people are british, We do that so we can all have a good time, we are all on at mostly the same time. No-one else complains its not racist at all.
