I never really thought money was going to come into play in this game, but I guess that's what it's coming down to what with ignite slapping the cash on the table more aggressively by the day. I suppose if anything, it should put an interesting twist on what money can accomplish, or fail to accomplish in this game.
I too could pay people I guess...but I just don't seem to care about the game enough to put money into play, whether to recruit people or to buy names or squads.
So far we got -
Vys - getting paid $ 500 paypal to go to Paladen
Kyou - 22 " lcd flatscreen monitor bought by ignite
Deez Nuts - still not known what kind of payment
Mega Newbie - waiting to accept paypal payment to go to pala, amount unknown, probably $ 500 as well
bike - going to disclose amount at end of month after he breaks it up per match
I heard Reaver is being 'worked on' as well, don't know if he will pass it up or not though. If anyone's got more scoops they have heard on what ignite has offered who, feel free to post here.
I'm sure there's more...but in the end I can't blame any of them though...this is just a game, whereas he is offering them real money, which some people (like Mega Newbie) can save up for college and moving to better opportunities. It still shall remain interesting to see where all the cash slap-downs will lead Paladen in TWL, and how squads will be affected by it.
It's actually almost an interestingly unnatural power that is all of a sudden overwhelming our environment, and only certain types of perseverance and loyalty branded together can overcome it, if it goes too far. Reminds me of the plot premise behind Warcraft 3 almost. I guess if anything..could make this more interesting than the failing boringness that the zone is becoming.
I think the most amusing part is that I was on one day for a few minutes a couple of months ago after not playing for a year and a half or so, and after seeing Pala's roster and talking to him for a few within minutes I already called him on paying people to be on his squad, though he denied it back then. Good times =P
