Regular season is here and it's time that squads kicked it into gear if they plan on making the playoffs! Time to get some work done, everyone. That being said, here's the featured matches for TWL-B and TWL-D:
TWL-B Week 1 : Featured Matches (by voth)
What I will do this week is give a short blurb about three of the matches and a more in-depth analysis of the Featured Match of the Week.
Dice vs. BasingCrew
Dice has something to prove after subpar games in the preseason. This, combined with the fact that Dice is exponentially better than BasingCrew in every single aspect of basing, will lead to a rather quick and easy victory for Dice. BasingCrew's only strength lies in their spiders, who are unfortunately no match for Dice's spiders. Dice would probably even win this with Downfall and ffe sharking.
Voth's prediction: Dice over Basingcrew, 15:00 to 5:00.
Penetrate vs. Spastic
These two squads both went 0-2 in the preseason. That being said, I expect a good close game because they are both hovering around the same level. Penetrate has the advantage with terriers, having Dead_Rain and Sauro as two solid terriers. Sharking is probably about even, with Stabwound and PH being a formidable duo for Spastic, and any combination of Jeenyuss/Project Dragon/Veloce/Duel Pasta sharking for Penetrate. The deciding factor of this game will come down to spiders. Penetrate has a good top spider line if it shows up (which it probably won't) and they make good lineup decisions. On the other hand, Spastic has much more depth and arguably more skilled spiders than Penetrate, which I believe gives their spiders the upper hand. Another thing that will come into play is Domi if he shows up and javs, which will be a problem for Penetrate considering how bad Da1andonly decimated Penetrate yesterday.
Voth's Prediction: Spastic over Penetrate, 15:00 to 12:00.
Disoblige vs. Mainliner
I couldn't decide whether to make this or the Thunder vs. Pirates match my featured match, so I decided to make them both the Featured Matches for the week. Disoblige who displayed weakness and lack of organization in preseason week one turned it up a notch yesterday and handily defeated Penetrate. Mainliner had a solid preseason, finishing 2-0 and having seemingly no big problems to speak of.
Terrier: Kawrae is much better than Mikkiz and Oder. Tim is probably rusted so even if he shows, probably not the safest bet. Advantage goes to Diso.
Sharks: Apocalypse WOW!, Vatican Assassin, Max B, cranium, MirrorriM have all proven themselves TWL-caliber sharks for Mainliner. For Disoblige, Mantra-Slider, soilderz, Rednaz, and Burzum are their only active and capable sharks that aren't needed elsewhere. Both have depth in sharks, but Mainliner has the skill advantage by a rather wide margin. Advantage Mainliner.
Spiders: Advantage Mainliner. I think we all know why; Zung, sarger, shayde, xvr, renzi, and Brethal I'd all consider some of the top spiders around. They work well as a unit because they have been failing for a few seasons together now, so their teamwork has been built up. Disoblige can put out a decent spider lineup IF THEY SHOW UP (which they probably won't). But if they want a chance in this one, they need to hope that Spikey, koan, bram, and Remu show up and then I assume they will have either Pjotter or Da1andonly in jav. Again, advantage here goes to Mainliner.
Mainliner is solid in every ship except terrier, but their terrier doesn't need to be great with the supporting cast he will have in front of him. If Mainliner's sharks show up, Disoblige will have a hard time impacting the game with their specials and I see them dropping this one.
Voth's Prediction: Mainliner over Disoblige, 15:00 to 11:00.
Thunder vs. Pirates
This should be a good one. Thunder finished the preseason 2-0 with a win over Spastic and the defending champions. Pirates finished preseason 1-1 with a win over Spastic and just barely dropped an extremely close game to Dice.
Terriers: For Thunder: Draft, dreamwin, Ease, Geisha (HI PAUL!!), menelvagor are all capable terriers. For Pirates: Zizu, Scoop, Hercules. Thunder has more depth but I feel like Pirates' terriers are more consistent (Zizu and Hercules, that is. Scoop.. eh..). Slight advantage to Pirates.
Sharks: Thunder has a lot of sharks, but like I said, they are not all great and are somewhat inconsistent. PaulOakenfold, Hellkite, Menelvagor, MHz, fizzy, and Dald are all capable. For Pirates, Dwopple has to find a consistent partner, and I'd assume top choices include Knockers and Hercules, who played shark in preseason. Mattey is a good shark, but where is he? If he shows up, it will probably be him and Dwopple which is a good team. Advantage here goes to Thunder due to Pirates' lack of depth.
Spiders: For Thunder, Eelam, Kian, cremation, Ease, Vitja, Hellkite, fizzy, and Dald are some of their top choices. Don't forget Necro was a nasty jav yesterday and he will probably keep playing that. Pirates, with a much smaller roster, have less to work with and probably will use Zizu (if he doesn't terr), Havu, Vys, Weaver, and M_M God in spid/jav. Advantage to Thunder with spider depth and a great basejav.
This is going to be a close one I think. Pirates have proved they can accomplish some good basing with not all that much to work with, but Thunder has been very impressive during preseason. It's a tough decision but...
Voth's Prediction: Thunder over Pirates, 15:00 to 11:30.
Thunder's spiders will be better than they have been because they'll have Eelam back this weekend. Necro was dominating in jav yesterday, and I don't see how Pirates' sharks will be able to shut him down. Like I said, Dwopple and Mattey are Pirates' best chance, but if both of them don't show, I have a feeling it will be the Necromotic show. Pirates' slight terrier advantage doesn't help much if the team in front of him can't perform.

Featured Match LJ (BY Eelam)
This week there is not one spectacular match that I would tell you guys all to watch, but there are some matches that people should keep an eye on to see the strength of some javelin teams that some may argue as being formidable opponents. The teams that I would recommend everyone keep an eye on this week are Quake, Disoblige, and Dynasty.
Quake verse Thunder
Quake’s starting Line: Shadowmere, Shan, Deez Nuts, Reaver, B.Rabbit
Thunder’s starting Line: Fludd, Ease, Waven, Necromotic, Vitja, Eelam, Marge, Zidane, dreamwin (ROLFMAO )
This match is a great test for Quake’s teaming ability and their ability to play patient and smart. During this match you will see Thunder using their great teaming ability to push Quake into corners and gathering easy kills by outnumbering quake. I believe this is a great game for Quake to have early in the season, because it allows them to learn from the best javelin squad in the league. This game will help Quake see their mistakes and allow them time to correct these mistakes so for their upcoming matches they will be even more prepared to give their opponents a huge challenge. Thunder must make sure that they keep pressure on Quake, because if they do not and give Quake some breathing room they might be in for a rude awakening, because Quake does possess some sleepers such as Reaver and B.Rabbit who can be very streaky and when they are on, they are very difficult to stop.
Score – Thunder defeats Quake 50-34
Dynasty verse Disoblige
Dynasty’s starting line: Shock Therapy, Aprix, L S, revered, Plate
Disoblige’s starting line: Spikey, Da1andOnly, Pjotter, Rednaz, Acumo
Both these lines are the ideal lines for both teams in my opinion ofcourse. Both these teams have some good javelins that are neither stellar nor mediocre. Therefore, I believe both teams are capable of making the playoffs but won’t go further than the first round. This game will be a very close match between two teams who want to show everyone that they are for real and they should be a team that the elite teams should not take lightly (Pirates, Dice, and Thunder). You will be in for a great dueling match with the score being fairly even throughout the whole match, my guess will be it will be 40-40, until Disoblige takes over and wins the match 50-42. The javelins that Disoblige have posses more experience and in my opinion skill than the javelins of Dynasty and that will allow them to be calm and patient in the latter half of the game to allow them to pick up the victory.
Score- Disoblige defeats Dynasty 50-42
