TWLJ Hot or Not: Week 5
Written by flared
Hot: maketso (dicE) for going 17-6 against Quake.
This week's matchups in TWLJ turned out exactly as they should've. dicE beat Quake, Thunder beat Dynasty, Deliria beat Laser, and Pirates beat Disoblige. There wasn't too much exciting going on this week. It's pretty obvious that maketso completely dominated Quake after looking at this astonishing 17-6 record. And judging by Quake's lineup consisting of one three, maybe four non-javs, they better start getting their javs to show up if they hope of having any chance of going anywhere in TWLJ this season. Besides for the Pirates and Disoblige match, the rest of the games were pretty boring. I'd have to say the most exciting thing this week would had to have been the fact that Pirates ending up getting 51 kills against Disoblige thanks to bram's perfectly timed substitution. Too bad Pirates weren't playing Thunder so they would've had something to appeal.
Honorable Mentions:plob#f (Pirates) for going 13-7 against Disoblige in the closest TWLJ match of the week. Chelsie (Deliria) for going 14-6 against Laser, and Fludd (Thunder) for going 16-9 against Dynasty.
Not:Acumo (Disoblige) for going 4-10 against Pirates.
Of all the games this week, this is the only one that had even the slightest chance of going either way. But after a performance like this, Disoblige was destined to lose. I'm sure cuji's 2-5 didn't help their chances either. And yes, I realize that there were other players like Guero and Props who had even worse records, but I can't recall ever seeing them in a TWJD and it's much worse for a javelin who usually performs well to choke so poorly.
Dishonorable Mentions: Dreamfly (Dynasty) for going 2-6 against Thunder and Paradise (Laser) for going 5-10 against Deliria.
