TWLD Week 7 Featured Matches by Izor
There are lots of good TWLD matches this week, with all but two matches being difficult to call either way.
Featured Match of the Week ::::: Thunder vs Quake :::::
This should be the best match, with an untested Quake finally getting into the meat of their schedule. Seeing as how they’ve only played a Pirates team that cant team so far, their undefeated season is in jeopardy this week against a Thunder team that just beat Pirates and Heavy. I don’t think anyone knows who is on Quakes top line except Deez and maybe Vash, but they seem to use different people every week and that lack of consistency is going to hurt them. Thunder’s solid teamwork (and hopefully excellent use of subs :P ) should carry them through this game and I can see this game being the start of Quake’s descent t mediocrity. Although, the lineup Thunder shows will also play a large part in the outcome of this one, because as we all know…NO CREATURE NO VICTORY.
Final Score ::::: Thunder 50 - Quake 44
Heavy vs Pirates :::::
Well this could have also been the featured match of the week, but last week Pirates was exposed (again) for what they really are…a group of 5 individual players with above average skills in wb. Both of these squads have lost to Thunder, but whereas Heavy learned how they got beat by Thunder’s superior teamwork that game, Pirates opted to blame a ‘bot malfunction’ as though that was the sole reason they lost. As for the game itself, look for HEAVY to be carried like usual by the consistently good play of RaCka, Izor, and Apok, while players like Annoyance and Kthx offer up some ez kills for their teammates. The play of Pirates will most likely revolve around whether plob comes back this week, as he is their best team player, but don’t expect him to overcome a solid group of 5 by himself. If HEAVY manages not to chase Pirates’ solo players around the map repeatedly this shouldn’t be a difficult game for them to handle, but Pirates should still put up 40.
Final Score ::::: Heavy 50 – Pirates 41
Disoblige vs Dynasty :::::
While this is one of the 2 games I can easily predict this week, after thinking about it Dynasty really has some issues to iron out after losing so badly to Quake. I realize it was the super bowl and some of your players had hangovers from the previous night, while Geza was having lag issues, but you can at least try and correct Geza’s lag this week. Don’t overlook Diso, even though like I’ve said in previous weeks you’ll still probably win even if you do.
Final Score ::::: Dynasty 50 - Disoblige 34
Rape vs Sweet :::::
Rape has finally gotten away from the tough part of its schedule, and can play what I think is an even matchup vs Sweet this week. Should 1-5 Rape win this week against 3-3 Sweet and take their bye week next week against Syne, they will potentially be in playoff contention for the last spot against Sweet and Sake, but for Rape the playoffs have already begun, as they need to win out to have a chance of taking that 6th spot. As for Sweet…honestly I don’t know how this squad is 3-3 at this point in the season. They’re terrible. Every week I see them assures me that they have no chance at making any noise in the postseason, even if they do make it. I’m going to call my second upset of the week here and go with Rape if they find some 5th player besides safia that can get above 5 kills. Valholy and Deliver have been having good seasons, and if they can get PO to play they have a very good shot.
Final Score ::::: Rape 50 – Sweet 45
Sake vs Syne :::::
Nothing to say here, Sake is about to improve to 3-4 on the season. Look forward to your next 2 games vs Pirates and Quake, because you’ll need to win at least one of them to make the playoffs. You have a very talented roster if you could wake them up and get them to play…certainly way more talented than Pirates, but you’ll have a much harder time against Quake for your season finale. If you can win these games it will certainly be at the right time.
Final Score ::::: Sake 50 - Syne 32
