twl maps

I have asked this before but no one has never cared enough to answer me but why is thrustshooting allowed in the twl maps? I know it is in twlj at least...

I still don't get what's the reason of smaller spawning area in twlb....

as we're at it, autowarp for twlb please.
autowarp makes the start a little bit more about skill. still a big factor is to which side you warp, but with autowarp it's also a little reflexion-skills.

also i'm dissapointed that we're still using this old (the first) javmap, it hasn't got a lot to offer, even the one for javtourny is better. i think it would be fun for everyone to play with a new map for javs ones in a while, just to stay interested. :/

the small spawn area in the twlb makes a wb so much mroe deadly, fuck that. I could play 5 wbs and then the terr and everything else couldn't get out fo the spawn zone and it becomes twld all over again.

I also agree with bram. Mixing it up with the jav map would be a welcome change. Everyone knows the current map like the back of their hand.

Mantra I have no idea what you mean by why is thrustshooting allowed in the map. Do you mean the exploit of using your gamepad to thrustshoot? I wasn't aware of any way to stop that.

Sorry what happened was Strike updated the maps when he changed his name to Strike (from Thorn). But instead of using the newer maps he used an old one and so it got all screwed up. The new maps will be up once I got time to add in a few things to my newer version

Javs map should really use some change; main area (in the middle) is too open and with few walls, while lower areas and left/right are much more packed with walls. Top left/right area is just useless.

You can thrust alot more before you shoot in that arena and that makes the jav bomb go faster... My question is simply why is it like that? it should be like it is in every other arena in tw. k thanks.

Continuum can do the same.

For some reason I can do it in ?go twlb.

oh and while we are on it, its just open space where the laggers eat all enemy bombs sneak up on you and own you. more walls plz where skills matters more. k thanks

Still havent heard any good answer why they allow fast bombing in twlj arena but not in twd for example.

I thought this was absolutely common knowledge. I still think it is actually. I might be wrong but this is what I thought:


About thinking you need a gamepad:

I think you can use Continuum itself to allow for thrustshooting. Just change your key-definitions, no need to use a gamepad. Attempting to thrustbullet (shift+ctrl) produces a repel instead, but not if you map repel to a different key. Then you can produce amazingly fast wb/spider bullets. Same for thrustbombs and the keydef for mining.


About thinking there is no way to stop it:

You can't thrustshoot/bomb in pub. I am pretty sure of this. I'm sure the reason why pub was altered like this was due to some notion that thrustbombing/shooting is inherently wrong (i.e. the settings weren't designed to allow this sort of game play). An example of this is, a javelin using thrustbombs produces faster bombs than using a rocket. This sounds wrong to me.


About a solution:

As others have said, using the public map would be a good idea, it would even fix the thrusting.


I'll check my assumptions when I come home.
