Going into week 8 things have shaken up a bit in the top four slots, with Thunder and Pirates losing matches, and Quake being the only undefeated squad in TWLD, closely followed by a 6-1 Heavy.
1. Quake - Well 7-0 not much you can really say about them at this point, at least until next week when Heavy dominates them. Excellent teaming so far but have not really blown out any of the real competition this year with close matches between both Pirates and Thunder. If not for Raspi they would definitely be 6-1 right now instead of 7-0.
2. Heavy - Like I have said all along Heavy is right here in the Power Rankings, and after next week should move up to the #1 slot, great numbers from Izor/Racka/Apok on top of the glue Annoyance/Kthx have kept this squad from going under this season. Next week Heavy vs Quake might be a look into the future of this years TWLD Finals.
3. Thunder - Even if Thunder was tied in the rankings with Dyn/Pirates I would still put Thunder in third. After the match they played vs Quake today it is obvious they can put up a good fight against the leagues top competitors. The only mistake they made this season was underestimating a Dynasty lineup that had something to prove at the start of this season. Still this squad has a good chance of being in the Playoffs, because depending on who plays who in the tournament, any of these top three squads could be playing each other.
4. Pirates - Pirates has played a good season even though their rec doesn't really say much for it. Despite having a rough first round against Quake, an even rougher round today vs Heavy, and a rough game vs Thunder but those are hardly losses that you would quit the game over. Still has a chance to do well in the upcoming tournament but the squad really lacks of the depth and activity to win this years TWLD title. Vys is too easily exploitable even though he is deadly if you play him wrong, and Hercules/Plob are past the years when they are a dangerous 2v2 pair.
5. Dynasty - The loss of Geio really sucks for you guys as he (besides that 1-10) really did put up some good numbers for you this season. But on the bright side you are in the tournament this season bar something crazy happening in the last two weeks. You can still pull some respect out of this season by doing well in the Tournament, and if you really pull your teaming together might even be able to edge out Pirates or possible Thunder again.
6. Sake - Not much to say about this depressing season from Sake, they are going to have a really tough time getting into the tournament ahead of Sweet, especially since they play Quake and Pirates the next two weeks, Ouch.
7. Sweet - Izor has you guys pegged to beat Dynasty next week but I don't see that happening, I haven't had a lot of chances to watch you guys this season generally because there are 3 games schedules in each time slot and well, one of them is generally a better and/or more important game. Still you have a much better chance than Sake to make it into the Tourny playing Dynasty and Thunder, either hope that Sake loses both its games, or try to win one of these. You have a better shot with Dyn than you do with Thunder, time to bring out the big guns this weekend.
8. Rape - Pretty bad squad, I still am rooting for you over Whiskeyjack though.
9. Whiskeyjack - Hey, you hop in and aren't even dead last, only Disoblige is worse than a replacement TWLD squad.
