Unfortunately, what you're seeing from the general population is the lack of motivation for this league. If people were really really into this division a lot more changes would have been made. You're not seeing multi-thread debates like the revamping of basing received. Maybe it's the population shrink, maybe it's not, but this isn't looking like a probable league anytime in the near future.

to avoid the whole running with flag thing couldn't you just make it so it's a race to X amount of points rather than a timed game where the team with the most points wins?

I'd be happy to get into TWSD, whereas the other leagues don't really interest me. I think TWLB strategy is too narrow and repetitive; warbird has always been a really boring ship to me; javs are probably the most interesting ship, but I don't enjoy playing all javs. Feel free to disagree, but that's where I stand.

Definitely stagger the leagues so that they are mutually exclusive, so people can do as many as they like. Or aspire to that, if it's not possible.

I don't know if maketso was joking, but a lanc league wouldn't be so bad either. Give each ship a single brick, or maybe one repel. Start without multi. Make the green probabilities 25% full charge, 25% multifire, and 50% useless (e.g., increased shrapnel). How well would people adapt to the strategy for a ship they've spent years neglecting? How about the challenge of mastering something new? Something to think about. Please use the space below to flame.

It's a mistake to think of one league in terms of another. Spider league is not for the crap players that wish they could be in a "real" squad. It's for the players who think it's fun to dogfight in spider, irrespective of their interest, skill or involvement with anything else.
