2 interesting games this week that might be playoff previews, and possibly another one or two that isnt.
Featured Match of the week - Rapid vs Fatal
Rapid is coming into this game after playing a close game against Shinobi where everyone on their team did what they had to (low score 8 high score 11). Sphinktor, Creature and company have been working very well together and will have to continue that against a Fatal squadron whos morale has been boosted by an ez win against Sage. Jones and Riverside will most likely lead Fatal in this one and if Riverside doesnt pull one of his choke jobs this might be a 50-49 game. Unfortunately I dont think it will be that close as Rapid has a definite advantage in skill.
Final score: Rapid 50 - Fatal 44
Quicksand vs Epidemic
Although they let Squadless and money play in TWL vs Serenity, Epidemic should show their starting line in a pretty big matchup against Quicksand this week. The problem is, their starting line isnt that much more talented than money and Deluge only managed 10-10 against Serenity. Undoubtedly, Epidemic is going to try and lob their way to a victory similar to Burnt in semis last year. Not to sound like John Madden, but the team that hits their shots more is going to win this game. Epidemic capitalizing on missed rushes and bad rush angles and Quicksand hitting their rushes/mid ranges. I think its pretty safe to ride RaCkas hot streak here.
Final score: Quicksand 50 - Epidemic 42
Sage vs Warpath
Some newbie said their 'warbirds' didnt show up against Fatal last week, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and act like they actually have some because I recognize like 2 names off that roster. Warpath should still be a bit too much for them, but Sage did manage a victory against Shinobi earlier in the season, so I might be surprised here. I'm not surprised all that often, though. Let's go with Sir Spider rebounding with an MVP.
Final score: Warpath 50 - Sage 40
Mad vs Shinobi
Shinobi needs to make up that loss to Sage at some point in the season by beating a squad that's actually good, but this week isnt looking good for them.
Final score: Mad 50 - Shinobi 37
dicE vs Thunder
It's unfortunate for dice that they have played 3 playoff squads so far and are set to play a 4th this week, because I think a lot of the community would like to see how they match up against a squad thats on their level, like Wolf or Warpath. I feel especially bad for dice because Thunder is most likely pissed that they had Reaver and chuckle playing and lost to Mad this past week. Look for them to actually go plus and Ease to do what he does in a pretty big rout.
Final score: Thunder 50 - dicE 33
Wolf vs Serenity
The more I think about this match, the less I know what to think. Squadless/Sirius/Deluge/money/8 probably would have raped Wolf, and Serenity managed to put up a fight. Wolf plays more like a team than those 5 though, so I would expect them to take care of business but it might be a lot closer than I'd give them credit for.
Final score: Wolf 50 - Serenity 39
