One man's take on LD playoffs

A man who isn't so important to the league, I may add.

People are going to initially bag me for suggesting this idea, because they may feel I'm worried that Fatal won't make playoffs if it's 6 teams, but fact is; I was going to suggest this regardless.

In my opinion, I think LD playoffs should be 8 teams, similar to the NBA or NHL, without conferences. Now, hear me out. My reasoning is, there are 8 capable LD Playoff squadrons in Mad, Epidemic, Thunder, Rapid, Quicksand, Sage, Dice and Fatal (Sage/Dice have been shockers for sure). The initial 'cons' of this is the fact that some may think TWL would be extended- but this is incorrect, as the teams with "Byes" will just play. I know TWL Playoffs has usually been 6 teams, but there's nothing wrong (imo) with change based on a situation. The fact that there are 12 teams this Season kind of highlights this fact.

Another issue may be Hosts, but that hasn't been a problem yet this Season. So this idea (which may be really dumb in some of your opinions) would definitely work out. Although the fight for the last playoff spots between Rapid/Quicksand/Sage/Dice/Fatal (I think we're out) is pretty interesting, I think this change wouldn't be a HORRIBLE one for this Season, as the 7/8 seeds may even cause an upset here and there.

Meh, just a suggestion, that again, I was going to make regardless of Fatal's playoff aspirations. Feel free to bash/agree. PH TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS AS WELL.

would there have been a reason whatsoever for my squad to win every game up to this point if we could have added zazu every game and still made the playoffs?

the point is, there would be zero reason to a regular season if you let 8 of the 12 teams in. that ratio is insane.

while the nba is stupid as hell in its postseason (it lasts over a month), even there, only half the teams in the league make the playoffs (which is also insane)

make it more like mlb, put 4 teams in the playoffs

Yes, with 12 teams I'd prefer 4 teams qualifying opposed to 8...
With 10 teams I'd also prefer 4 teams opposed to 8... 6 is somewhat stupid even...
Max teams entering play-offs should be half the total teams participating...
Else Regular season is just too much of a: "Doesn't matter what happens here" kinda thing.

So you want everyone except the cannon fodder squads to go to the playoffs? Why? Quicksand has had attendance problems and Dice had to add Dwopple yesterday. If those squads, and the others they're fighting for position with, want to get into the playoffs then they'll have to play their way in. I'm not giving them a free pass just because they beat the bottom-feeders.

I want to see a battle for the last two spots, as opposed to everyone just laying down and taking it easy since they would be guaranteed a playoff spot regardless. So it's staying at 6 teams.

Yea Dont change it. 6 out of 12 is the right amount. Maybe if we had 16 squads, 8 playoffs squads would work. Its always half riverside, always.

This idea isn't the best...i say stick to what we have now..Playoff's is for the teams that are the creap of the crop from this zone. Free passes' shouldn't just be shoveled out freely Work for what you get.

For the reasons already stated its best at 6 teams. Why would you even bother playing the regular season (even though we really havent :\ ) if everyone made the playoffs anyway? No child left behind doesnt apply on here
