A few regular season TWLD awards

I've got some free-time now that school/one of my jobs is over for a while and I want to present a few regular season awards (based mostly on stats since my ability to watch/play games was limited this season).

The BlackMage Regular-Season TWLD Awards!



Most lagouts - Our good friend Chuckle (16 in 10 games).
I blame Boston College because they suck (even though I don't think he uses their internet...still the school sucks).

Runner up - Jaa (12 in 6 games).
He actually posted a higher LO/g than Chuckle (and only trailed Deez Nuts' 3.0 LO/g among this year's players). Jaa is definitely a top5laggot this year.


Most consistent death machine - Nemiseph (10 deaths in each of 10 games)
We love him (and the team losing 10 games certainly had something to do with it), but that there is a lot of deaths.

Runner up - Burg (10 deaths in each of his 8 games)
See the notes for nemiseph above (and note that he was actually positive in K-D this year)


Most kills in one game - Rasaq (19 for Shinobi against Mad).
Impressive against Mad... but his team lost and he soon left the squad.

Runners up - Jones (18 against Warpath and Ease 18 against almost every squad).
Jones had a nice day against us. Ease had a nice day against almost everyone.


Quickest bail by a TWLD squad captain - Rasaq (left Wolf for Shinobi on the Soft-lock).
Wow, he wins again!


Most Unfortunate Subspace Quit - Ardour (We tried to get TWLM running for this TWL but Ardour left things in a mess and we were figuring things out blind).

Runner up - Iron Survivor (Left in like Week 5 without saying anything to anyone)
If anyone knows if he is alive, the gay men in Brazil are deeply worried.



The 11 Games Club - Megaman89, Jones, and Caos.
Where would Dice and Fatal been without these guys? Nowhere near the playoffs (or playoff hunt).



Rookie of the Year - Anyone but Cres
Seriously though. Anyone but him. If any of the following categories' players are rookies to TWL, they win it.



Surprise player of the year - Zizu (11 AVK-8 AVD in 9 games for the surprise Sage.)
He might have won this without that big game against Dice. Great regular season, now lets see what Sage can do in the post-season.

Runners up - Ground Zero and Burg.
Great under-appreciated years from these guys. Burg finishing positive on that Serenity team was a serious accomplishment. Ground Zero played just a hair worse than Zizu for Sage.



Regular season MVP - Mythril (10-7 AVK, AVD while playing in 10 games for the undefeated best team)
I thought about this pretty hard. WAR actually had better stats for Epidemic, but he played in 2 less games. Ease put up very gaudy stats, but his squad finished 3rd and he only played in 8 games. So in the end, the redeemed "Should we reinstate him?" Mythril takes it home, in my opinion.

Runners up - WAR, Delectable, Ease, Megaman89, Racka, Zizu, Scoop, Jones, Caos.



Remember, all this is through my lazy, limited research and opinion.

Damn, I really appreciate it (I've felt like I've been overlooked ever since being unbanned), but in my opinion, Ease is hands down the MVP of the regular season. To average 13-7 and have a +50 k/d in just 8 games is unreal. He went 17-10 in both of the losses to Epidemic and Mad, and didn't even play when Thunder lost to Quicksand. I feel dumb arguing against myself, but Ease deserves it this season

It always boils down to "What does Most Valuable Player mean?" Is it most important player? Is it best player? I would say that Ease was this year's Most Outstanding Player, whereas you were the Most Outstanding Player Who Played The Biggest Part on the Best Team...which is usually what the Most Valuable Player Award comes down to in the mainstream world.

I know ease is somewhere in TW emo nerd raging in thunder chat about to cry over this. Poor guy, shoulda given it 2 him mage. On a serious note, grats 2 mythrill welcome back 2 the trenches baby. Still mad about grapevine tho. Slut!

Myth has had a great Season and all, he'd definitely be runner up MVP... but there's no WAY it's not ease..

you saw what happened with QS. take ease out of that thunder line-up and disaster is written all over it. With Epidemic, they have other guns (dele, specifically) who can step up. Mythril is extremely consistent, yeah, but he didn't carry all the games, like Ease did. To drop 18 games like 5 times vs the BETTER squadrons is ridiculous. I don't understand how he puts up more than 5 kills, the faggot just floats around, people miss easy shots. fk. stop over-estimating the bastard.

You don't have to tell me how good Ease was or how good his stats were. I just didn't feel it was justified to give it to a player who had a 6-2 record when there was another player who was 10-0 and who had good stats too. Sure, Delectable is good. But Burnt, Raspi, Baserman, and Reaver are all pretty good as well.

To recap- MOP: Ease
MVP: Mythril (He set the pace for his 11-0 team)

1) Mythril still lag cheats, dur...
2) Mythril has played in many more dd's with his squardron than Ease has.
3) Ease has a more consistent k/d ratio and rating.
4) MM89 has an overall better record in not only TWLD, but all TWL leagues.
5) Jones has done excellent for someone who doesn't have any team support.
6) Out of the top 10 warbird's of the regular season, there are far more "valuable" players than Mythril.

7) Scoop is another that's been overlooked this season.
8) Comparing Ease to Mythril, Ease has played in less games, has more overall kills, more kills, less deaths, more kills per round, a better highest kill record, same amount of deaths per round, a much better average points per game, and a better rating.
9) A squad getting a perfect regular season is a squad effort, to place an mvp on one specific squad member is excluding all the effort put forth by his squadmates.
10) Also, Epidemic was in only one league this season and has played with, for the most part, the same 5 to 7 players all season. While Ease plays and practiced for all three leagues. Epidemic also plays way more dd's than Thunder does. Most of the warbirds you mentioned for Thunder hardly ever log on and/or ever practice together.

Who you consider "valuable" seems more like sucking up more than anything imho.
