Another week, another set of games. Some good ones and some blowouts this week, lets get it started.
Freebie vs. Fierce
36-50
Winner: Fierce
The final score makes this game seem a little closer than it actually was. Fierce had control from the beginning and just didn't stop. Geio (12-5) continued to show his magic in this match with an MVP-caliber performance, with Weak (13-9) and Apok (10-10) putting up good numbers at his side. For Freebie, chuckle (0-4) got off to a rough start and was subbed for violence (3-6) who didn't exactly step up in his stead. A good round from saetep (11-10) and some solid performances from ricko and kid kaos couldn't make up for it, and thus Freebie falls.
MVP: Geio/Weak
LVP: chuckle/violence
Penetrate vs. Savanger
29-50
Winner: Savanger
Coming as no big shock to anyone, Savanger continues their winning ways after their surprising victory over Sk8. Peru (16-7) led a confident Savanger to what was effectively a steamroll over Penetrate today. Disappointing performances from zhou (2-10) and Minotar (4-10) seemed to pave the way for this one to happen. Along with Peru, Quartz (11-3) and Unabled (11-5) put up some good numbers.
MVP: Peru
LVP: zhou
Sk8 vs. Pandora (Game of the Week)
50-49
Winner: Sk8
I don't think anyone expected this to be a blowout, and the score definitely reflects that this match, in fact, lived up to what it should have been. Close from start to finish, the score fluctuated back and forth until Burnt (13-9) delivered the final blow to Casket (11-10) with only a bit of time left. Mythril (19-10) showed up big time and was the driving factor in keeping Pandora in this game, with performances from Sir Spider (0-6) and CLARK KENTaro (5-10) leaving much to be desired. Ease (12-10) and scoop (11-10) stepped up with big contributions for their team, while Oops (4-4) stayed alive until nearly the end despite a 4 death sub. A game worthy of TWL, to be sure.
MVP: Mythril/Burnt
LVP: Sir Spider/Clark Kentaro
Honorable Mention: Oops for staying alive as long as he did to help keep this one close
Paladen vs. Syne
50-42
Winner: Paladen
A couple of struggling teams trying to make their mark face off in Round 4, with Paladen picking up the victory. Jessup (10-4) and his innate ability to survive just about anything led the way for Paladen to roll over Syne at the very end. golden duck (14-10) and esau (10-10) gave their all to try and fend this off, but some rough performances from MONST3R (1-3), Rob D (1-5) and Auger (3-7) kinda sealed their fate. Exalt (12-9) and Rubi (13-9) put up some good numbers and, as a personal note from the author of this Hot or Not, it's nice to FINALLY see alextron (4-5) get some TWL playtime.
MVP: Jessup/Exalt/Rubi
LVP: MONST3R/Rob D/Auger
Honorable Mention: Alextron YOU MADE IT MAN! proud of u 4 realz u mah dougie
Asians vs. Sweet
40-50
Winner: Sweet
The battle of the undefeated Asians and Sweet came to a head today, as both teams fought it out in Round 4, with Sweet picking up the victory. It swung back and forth for a little while, but Riverside (15-9) and Vash (16-6) put this one in the books for Sweet. Zagis and Moto Trucker (11-10s) helped to make it interesting, but Zyphen and Speedkillz (4-10 and 4-8 respectively) had poor performances and ultimately contributed to Asians' first loss more than anyone else. Just wanna say congrats to Asians for turning heads with some shocking wins, and a bigger congrats to Sweet for staying undefeated. Keep it up, you guys!
MVP: Vash/Riverside
LVP: Zyphen/Speedkills
Overall MVPs: Mythril, Peru, Burnt, Vash, Riverside
Honorable Mentions: Jessup, Weak, Exalt, Geio
Overall LVPs: Sir Spider (i rule at getting these), Rob D, Clark Kentaro, chuckle, zhou
Dishonorable Mentions: violence, Auger, Minotar
Fun week to watch, not so much to play (at least for me). Here's to another week of exciting TWLD matches as Fierce takes on Syne, Freebie meets Savanger, Paladen takes on Sweet, Pandora goes up against Penetrate, and in my predicted Game of the Week, Asians meets up with Sk8.
