Well I decided to have some fun playing with the stats. This is not the big project I mentioned in the other thread. This is just me inventing some stats (especially for basing), and providing everyone with some sorted stats to look at. I have not filtered anyone out, so there will be some obvious outliers. Just ignore them. I will try to do this a few more times during the season. I may also make some analysis later in the thread.

those statistics made me realize that the "time played" is bugged in basing, either that or it's counting pre-season.

i mean.. 99 minutes in 3 games? not possible. :fear:

doing better than last season in jav. :wub: and way worse in spider again.

afk now, gj getting the statistics. was thinking of doing something SIMILAR to this in jd/bd after regular season, but doing it mid season is great too.

Most of the stats do not include pre-season stuff, but perhaps the time does. My conversion to minutes is working fine, and a quick adding up suggests that it counting the pre-season is not the problem.

Time to do some analysis of each league. Note, I have not watched a single game this season. This will be a purely statistical analysis.

Top 3:

Peru

Each of the top 3 had at least 15 kills in one of their games. Vash is averaging a 10-4, which is very good for this level of competition, and an absurdly low number of deaths. His teammate Dak has been the most consistently good player to appear in all of his team's games. And then we get to Peru, who has been averaging 15 kills a match. Most players don't get 15 kills in their TWL career.

Median:
Keith

Keith has a fitting average of 1.00 K/D as the median. Median is provided as a frame of reference.

Surpises:

Zyphen
Beam

Zagis had a few solid performances in TWDT, but they did not prepare anyone for how good he's been in TWL. He and his teammate Zyphen have carried the clearly most surprising team, Asians. I've been giving Beam a hard time for a while because of his poor numbers in TWL/TWDT the last few years. It looks like he's turning things around.

These three had much higher expectations coming in than how they have performed so far. Chuckle and B4sERmaN only played one game briefly before being subbed out (I assume), but neither managed a kill. Their teams certainly expected more of them when they were assembling their rosters, and probably expected them to show up more often also. Lastly, Paky Dude really needs to bring his game up a level. He was expected to carry his squad. He's the only one on this list that has actually played in more than 1 game, which is troubling for his future matches. Dishonorable Mention: Sir Spider. Stop playing like a noopi.

No one is shocked to see megaman89 at the top of this list. He's been an elite jav for a long time, and his 11-4 average record is pretty sweet. Zidane continues his great play from TWDT with a steady average of 11 kills and 5 deaths while playing in all 3 of his team's games. Lastly, I'm giving the nod to Turban, who has played in all 3 games and put up impressive kill numbers (he leads the league in kills) to along with fairly low deaths.

Median:
Paradise

Unlike TWLD, Paradise is pretty far below 1.0 at a 0.8 K/D as the median. Now this could be because TWLJ have played less games and the numbers aren't as stable yet, but it currently indicates that there is less parity in the league. There are more players with bad records skewing this league's median downwards.

Infrared has pretty impressive TWDJ numbers, but his stats in last year's TWLJ and his TWDTJ play did not indicate he had this skill in him, which is why I have him on the list. He's having a very impressive year. Similarly, Children did not have more than 11 kills in any of his 8 TWDTJ games, but he put up 16 in one already in TWL. I don't know lavu very well, but he had mediocre stats in TWDJ and last year's TWLJ. However, he has started this year strongly positive while playing in all 3 of his team's games.

After very strong play in TWDTJ 2 years ago, Aimbot has not shown much last TWL and especially this one. Perhaps he was lucky to be on such a strong team then, but I like the guy and hope he turns it around. Raples has long proved he's a good and consistent player that doesn't talk a big game, but shows up to do his work. However, he's not getting it done so far this year. In 3 sub efforts (I believe) he has 9 deaths and only 6 kills while playing on an undefeated team. He also has 2 teamkills. Lastly, Bender/B.Rabbit has been playing on an elite level for a while now. He helped lead his squad to the TWL finals last year, but 50% more deaths than kills over 3 games won't cut it in TWL.

I really didn't want to pick all Dicers because I figure their statistical success is due to an overall talent surplus, but their numbers are too good in the other categories besides K/D to pass them by. Anyways, Megaman89 finds his way onto another top 3 list. He is having a superb overall start to the season, and his spider numbers are ludicrous. 174-35. I don't even need to add a comment. Cripple has a 2.7:1 K/D (second among those who played more than one game behind mega), but in addition to that, he has the highest Tek/Min of anyone to play more than one game. Lastly there is Riff_Raff. I thought hard about Davy or Rucci, but Riff_Raff had a larger sample to work with (despite all 3 playing only 1 game), and had the highest Kills/Min of any spider who had more than 10 minutes played, to go along with his excellent K/D.

These were the 3 highest players in Reps/D that had more than 1 game of data available, and the results make decent amounts of sense to me. TABARNAK!!! seems like is always online and always in a shark somewhere, and he has great kill numbers in addition to the high number of reps. I've regarded Vatican Assassin as one of the best sharks in the game for a long time, and these numbers just confirm he's playing up to that level this season. I haven't seen Ephemeral play much since he's never done TWDT, but he has good stats so far this year (and I liked his logic in the Trauma appeal thread, although I disagreed).

Is Zizu home from the army? That would be good news for Dice if so, because he's one of the best terriers in this game. His one game this year was a statistical gem also, featuring no deaths to 21 kills in 23 minutes. I picked Evildeed because he had the 2nd best TP/D and K/D of any terr playing more than 10 minutes of action so far this year. Lastly, Cintra has played all 3 games for Penetrate, but his numbers are still right up there with the others despite a loss to his belt. He has impressive 10:1 ratios of kills and minutes per death.

I didn't mean to pick on you for being below 1:1, but you were the exact median (value in the middle if you arranged the numbers in sorted order) in the list. And since you were below 1:1 as the median, this tells us something about the league as a whole, even if it doesn't really tell us anything about your individual play. That's the only reason I even mentioned the medians in the lists. And trust me, I know the important of adjusting for opponents play. But it's just a lot of work to do .
