Season 15.
Week 3.
TWLD Hot or Not
*holds envelope to head*
Words Synonymous With Cres!
Aha, I was right! But Cres decided he'd rather fake being banned than write up a Hot or Not, so here I am again bringing you the highlights and the lowlights of TWLD Season 15 Week 3. He should still be doing the interviews, so whatever, those will probably be in their own post. With that said, away we go.
dice vs. Fierce
41 - 50
MVP: Apok!
The Week 3 showdown shaped up to be a good one, with both Dice and Fierce being undefeated. Something's got to give, right? It gave, all right, in favor of Fierce, as they rolled to victory. I can probably summarize this LD in a few sentences, so I will do so.
1) Apok was ruthless in this game, dropping 18 kills.
2) When everyone else was out for dice, guess who was the last one standing? If you guessed vys, you're correct!
3) The entirety of the spec chat spent 80% of the game wondering if WAR would even get a kill, let alone go beyond 0-3.
Overall, this one was fun to watch if for WAR looking lost out there and nothing else.
ASIANS vs. Sweet
29 - 50
MVP: Engineers!
This game was probably over before it started. Both ASIANS and Sweet were winless coming into this game, and now the winless title belongs solely to ASIANS (more on that later!) as Engineers busted out his first big game of the season to give Sweet a big victory. Engineers gave a thrilling 17 kill game, while Jones had 12 kills to give some great support. For ASIANS, qpr (if you will remember last week, claimed that being terrible was some sort of gameplan...) led the scoring for ASIANS with 10 kills. And that was about it. So maybe that gameplan worked out personally, but next time, let your team in on it...
Thunder vs. Epidemic
50 - 23
MVP: Mythril!
This game was just bad. Epidemic really didn't play like anything that resembled a team, and Thunder... well, they played like Thunder, and blew out Epidemic by 27. Both Mythril and Ease dropped 13-5 scores, with the bot favoring Mythril (probably afraid of nasal penetration). Raspi had 11 kills to support them. As far as Epidemic goes, they were so bad, their highest score was 6 kills. Yup. 6 kills. I'm not sure where delectable is. Maybe he's just embarrassed. I think I would be, too.
DyNasty vs. Paladen
50 - 42
MVP: Keith!
I didn't get to see this game whatsoever, as I was busy losing to hit in the other arena (more on this soon!), but DyNasty finally breaks into the win column after a 50-42 victory over Paladen. Keith was ridiculous in this game... in fact, ridiculous scores seem to be a trend this week, as he dropped 19 on a Paladen that just couldn't cope with it. Both kthx and vida gave good support with 10 kills a piece, and when 3 of your 5 players are responsible for 39 kills... well, it gives the other guys on your side a ton of breathing room. Paladen wasn't without their own ridiculous score, as in their losing effort, Duclover put up a 16 spot. Clearly, though, it wasn't enough to make up for the combined 3-10 of 1< (who...?) and Jessup, so that's that.
hit vs. Penetrate (Game of the Week)
50 - 46
MVP: raidar!
Now, about that game in the other arena... well, if you missed it, shame on you. Definitely the closest game of the week, and the end could have really gone either way, as these teams were tied at 39 before hit finished things, winning 50 to 46. More ridiculous scores in this one, as raidar made everyone on Pene his bitch with a 17 kill round. golden duck gave 12 kills in support of this as well. Pene made their mark as well, with Reaver dropping 15 kills and fighting to try and pull off a miracle at the end. The miracle never happen, though. (kudos if anyone gets that horrible, horrible reference). One of the talking points this week could be the decision to start desktop over Rasaq, as Pene lost by 4 while desktop went 0-4. It is what it is, though. From a personal standpoint, I really enjoyed playing in this one.
Hot of the Week (TIE): Apok (18-8), Keith (19-7), raidar (17-8)
Honorable Mentions: Ease & Mythril (13-5 each), Engineers (17-8), Reaver (15-10), Duclover (16-10)
This week seemed to be all about individual efforts and people dropping monster scores. Just look at all of the honorable mentions and see for yourself. However, Keith, raidar and Apok not only had the biggest scores, but these were scores that were truly game changing and possibly season defining for them. Major props for guiding your respective teams to victory this week.
Not of the Week: Epidemic
Dishonorable Mentions: desktop/Rasaq (3-10 combined), megaman89/Yakuza (4-10 combined), 1</Jessup (3-10 combined), Zagis/Refer (4-10 combined), eXcAlIbUrX2o (3-10)
Once again, my Not of the Week goes to an entire squad as opposed to any individual players. I never actually anticipated that I'd be giving it to Epidemic, but that's the way things go. Epidemic just looked completely lost out there after the first... 3 minutes or so of the game. It also wasn't a surprise to see LaSenza as the last one in, either. I honestly expected better... much better, and that's why you're here. Step up!
Most entertaining moment of the week: WAR staying at 0-3 for what seemed like an eternity.
Week 4 features
Paladen vs. dicE
Fierce vs. Sweet
DyNasty vs. Thunder
ASIANS vs. Penetrate
Epidemic vs. hit
Good luck to all players!
