Ohayo gozaimasu, minna-san.
It seems like no one is planning on doing predictions for the next javelin league, thus I figured that I could sacrifice some of my time at work to write a short prediction thread on some squads, listing their strengths, weaknesses and possible lineups.
Please keep in mind that I have been inactive for quite a while and will be generally clueless on most peoples current skill level, but that shouldn't be an issue as most of the awful players just don't have the talent to be good at this ridiculously simple ship.
Real
Real has currently exactly 8 decent to half-decent javelins on their roster, something which easily could prove to be their downfall this season unless they miraculously happen to recruit someone good before the season begins.
They do not have that much individual talent nor do they work that well as a team, but that's only based on what I saw a couple of weeks ago -- maybe they've miraculously gotten good all of the sudden without me noticing. Their only strength would be their consistency. None of their players (aside from Tiny and Rule, but they don't count if you ask me) are known for choking hard when it matters, thus they are definitely among the top 4 contenders this season.
How far will they go with that lineup? Hard to say, but I really doubt they can make it to the finals let alone win this season unless a huge miracle happens.
Lineup: Psymorph, Rule, Scoop, Tiny & 24
Possible substitutes & starters: Bill C, Spikey & Jones
Fierce
Okay, pardon me if you get offended of my harsh words Fierce members, but rest assured that was not my intention. I was looking at the current ladders and noticed that this squad was number one, thus it made me curious to check seeing who was on the roster. Now, when I did open the roster page I expecting much, but ended up getting a good laugh out of their pathetic name list. Brightened up my morning.
Surely there has to be a reason for how they managed to climb to the top during this inactive TWD season, and only thing I can think of would be their teamwork which might be working better than I can imagine. They have absolutely no stellar players, but their activity and team chemistry makes up for that. Maybe Apok isn't that bad of a javelin after all or maybe Dice simply hasn't been playing any games seriously in months.
Nonetheless, they have an interesting roster (literally have no clue who they would field) thus could prove to be the dark horse this season. If we went by names alone I wouldn't even mention them in the top 4 this season, but as they've proven to be fairly good at teaming they deserve to be there. I would be surprised if they managed to make it to the finals, however, but everything can happen nowdays.
Lineup: Apok, Eelam, Havok, TiduZ & Rough
Possible substitutes & starters: Vys, Geio & Deez Nuts
Dice
One of the two powerhouse squads this season, yet again. Unfortunately for Dice they happen to have one huge Achilles' heel this season, also known as EvilDeed, whom will surely lessen Dices chances of winning this season by a bunch if given the chance.
They have a roster filled with players who have proven themselves year after year, and surely this year will be no exception to that trend. They have the same issue as Thunder currently, most of their star players are inactive, but as the season starts and playoffs get closer that will most likely not be an issue for either squad. Their bench lineup is stronger than most squads starting lineup, which tells the whole story of how dominant they can be if they feel like trying hard.
I haven't seen them play in a long time nor have I played against them, but if things haven't changed they are still fairly poor at working as a team but make up for it with their individual talent and skill, not to mention they have several laggots (basically they're the equivalent of me) on roster that are annoying to play against.
They have most definitely got the material to be in the finals this season, and if everything goes as planned they could get another title for their already excessive ring collection.
Lineup: Megaman89, Stayon, EvilDeed, Cape & Domi
Possible substitutes & starters: Mess, Kess, Paska, Spawnisen, Waven & Riske
Thunder
We are supposed to be the other powerhouse squad, but frankly I don't see how that's the case. We have the (in)famous duo Children and Zidane on roster, two friends who simply can't seem to win anything when they're playing together -- for a reason, if you ask me.
On paper we have probably the second strongest lineup if not the strongest with some decent substitutes available, but due to the fact that our core players this season are inactive it could lessen our chances by a bit if we have to rely on that forementioned dominant duo during this season.
We have the same issue as Dice, we don't work that well as a team but shine in individual talent. At least that's the case for most of our players, myself included when I was in my prime, and it's not going to change as long as I'm on roster and playing games. We will be fielding multiple different lineups during the season to keep everyone happy, but when the playoffs start we will most likely just add the best players available at that time, meaning tons of crying and complaining will happen. Oh joy!
Lineup: Ease, Fludd, Byakko, Tsunami & Flared
Possible substitutes & starters: Zidane, Children, Infrared, Raples, Struck & M_M God
There's my four favorite squads this season, although Heist is another contender whom easily could be good enough to challenge most of the top squads. Only time will tell, but for now that's my list. No surprises, no bold predictions.
If you want, I can quickly try to write a little about these squads:
Heist
Lego
Juans
Ancients
Although only Heist is worth writing about on that list.
