Real vs LEGO
As is becoming normal for LEGO, they started off their match against Real up by a decent margin. Real seemed to be out of it and repeatedly got caught up making bad teaming moves. Murder was 15-6 going into the later part of the game, when Real finally seemed to get their lobbing act together. Flew and Murder tried to continue pushing Real around despite their solid teaming, but came up short multiple times. Flew even decided to shoot at Burnt on 5 deaths instead of Demonic or Rule on 9. After the first LEGO squaddie died out the rest of the squad decided to play their own game. With no one pressuring Weaver, Reaver, and Burnt they were able to come up with a big finish and take the score from 42-42 to 50-43. Still something for LEGO to build off of. Unlike Spastic, theyre showing the extra 2 squads in LD/LJ were useful.
Final score Real 50 - LEGO 43
Spastic vs Hit
Hit cruised through their bye week with a 50-18 victory which is becoming a trend this season.
Final score Spastic 18 - Hit 50
Quicksand vs Penetrate
Neither squad between these two fielded anything resembling their top line, with RaCka, Weak, siaxis/FST missing for QS and Raazi and Creature missing for Pene. Kyou was carrying for QS and Ricko for Pene, but the difference here was their teams. kid kaos and dour couldnt seem to dodge any stray that came into their screen, and both of them died out in short order. Guero being horrible kept the score relatively close, but QS never really was able to get anything going as a team.
Final score Quicksand 40 - Penetrate 50
Dice vs Potenza
Dice and Potenza both came into this game off of bad losses, so each squad came into the game knowing they needed to win this one. vys apparently didnt get that message, as he died 8 times in the first 3 minutes or so of the game. Potenza capitalized on this well, picking on the rest of Dice's "warbirds" and maintaining a small advantage throughout the match. Duke- came on in relief of Tarnish around the 35 kill mark to hopefully start making something happen for Potenza, and it resulted in him slamming Cape, Best, and ultimately mm89. Harder could have taken a few notes on that sub based on his performances earlier this season.
Final score Dice 45 - Potenza 50
Thunder vs Fierce
The start of this match which I missed being in ld2 seemed to be relatively uneventful. Cres and Eric Clapton managed to both join the 2-7 club before being subbed out by Obi and Phrenitis. At that point Thunder started to mount a comeback. Ease got hot and they managed to take out Skepsis pretty early. Apok was on 9 and Fierce was not managing to make anything happen, but his ability to stay in and even pick up a few kills is what sealed the game for his squad. Maybe Thunder could have won if they added a better line from the start, but we'll never know now.
Final score Thunder 42 - Fierce 50
Hot of the week: Apok (15-9) - Good ability to stay in on 9 deaths and lure kills for his team while getting a few himself separated Fierce from Thunder late in the game. Performances like that will be necessary from Apok if Fierce wants to win LD
Honorable mention: Ricko (16-6), Murder (16-10), Ease (15-10)
Not of the week: kid kaos (4-10) - Looks like logging on one day a week doesnt work even against scrubs.
Honorable mention: Cres/Eric Clapton (matching 2-7's), Baffling (4-10), Cape (6-10)
