Game of the Week: Real vs Dice
Real 38, Dice 50
Real: 24, amnesti, Bill C, Psymorph, Reaver
Dice: Jamal, megaman89, Cape, waven, Tiny
Before I start this write-up, let me set the mood with a prediction from our very own in server retard, amnesti:
"This match matters little, but you gonna have to put in your waven to have any hope, and he is not much hope."
Even Derrick Rose could have formulated a better sentence than that you incessant moron, stick to Finnish.
Anyways this game was definitely a showcase of the better javs TWL has to offer. From the beginning, both squads played giving utmost deference to the other team. Dice, in a huge change of method, was back pedalling and playing very passively from the beginning. Real somewhat pushed but this was out of their element so they too resorted to the safe javing and amputate-like shots we expect with a squad with 24. The game was pretty even as the scores advanced to the early 20's. However, Psymorph was an impressive 1-7 at this point. Soon after the score was 21-31 in Dice's favor. This was surprising as the only person who was pushing was Cape. Waven was sticking back and lobbing bombs and megaman, per usual, was lobbing r3 warbird strays. Tiny was holding his ground as Real gathered around Psymorph and start to lob protectively. Psymorph eventually went out with a 4-10 and was soon followed by Tiny with a 9-10, making the LJ a 4v4. As it seemed Real was mounting a comeback, Dice remembered their strength relied in their aggressive play and eventually finished Real off; led by Cape's miracle shots. Even 24's permanent headband was not a match for the early deficit and lack of momentum created by Psymorph's horrid play. Overall Dice capitalized on a weak spot in Real's line in this match and rode that to victory.
HOT: Cape with a headband performance of 17-9
NOT: Psymorph, 4-10

Thunder vs. Juans
Thunder 50, Juans 31
Thunder: Tsunami, infrared, zidane, cross, obi
Juans: Shadowmere, Alef Juan, Healt, John Juan
This was a 5v4 match, so there is little to write as even Mellow could have pulled out a victory against Juans with a one man advantage. However I will say two things:
1. Thank you Juans for being good sports and playing your 4 anyways. Even though GA whines about everybody being a tryhards because what little skill he had (see: strays), has now long dissipated.
2. Roiwerk why would you leave Juans mid season to sit in spec for Lego? Even if your pathetic excuse for a squad won more than one LJ, its better to play than to just sit and watch Zizzo lob strays all game. And you can't use the excuse that you never play because you were on for the TWL matches today. Dumb chubby chasing moron.
HOT: Obi, 4-5, for some clutch saves and sacrifices
NOT: Cross for going negative with a 7-9.
Fierce vs. Heist
Fierce 50, Heist 45
Fierce: Rough, Apok, Eelam, Children, Deez Nuts
Heist: Kess, apricot, lz, torcher, MHz
Both squads played very poorly in this close game. From the beginning Fierce seemed to pick up where they left off last week with Children teamkilling in absolutely moronic fashion. I was certain Heist was going to pull this one off. However, Heist has had the problem of being very passive all season which did them in against Fierce, just as it did against Thunder. Apricot and torcher were the main culprits as their lobs and and random bullet spam did not help MHz and lz capitalize on a weak Fierce. Apok and Rough both were struggling with their aim which in turn left them susceptible to the rush (which of course torcher does not do). Despite a close start, kess had to be subbed out and renzi fared no better with a 1-5. After renzi was knocked out, Fierce slowly but surely sealed the deal. Fierce now has a victory under their belt and look for them to try and make some moves before playoffs.
HOT: Honestly everyone played sloppy on both sides but I'll give to Children 12-9.
NOT: Kess/renzi for a combined 3-10. Come on Quixote, with B.Rabbit and Hunt not showing, Heist can't afford one of their top javs to underperform.
hit v. Potenza
hit 40, Potenza 50
hit: Heisman, Paradise, Tomas Hakke, Mr.Todolorosso, Welt
Potenza: Iron Survivor, qpr, Supreme Authority, Biet, forces
This was a boost for Potenza, after a winnable loss against Heist. Both teams started out slow, but Potenza seemed to have all the momentum this game. Most of hit's kills were obtained while running from Iron's lag rush. Qpr started with a slow 2-4 but managed to stray his way to a 7-10 (12-8). Heisman and Paradise were not enough for hit, despite both players holding their weight. Potenza presented a cohesive and very capable teaming scheme today, if they keep it up they may be able to turn some heads in the playoffs (as long as qpr keeps hitting those strays).
HOT: Iron Survivor 13-8 and an MVP.
NOT: Mr.Todolorosso 2-10
Penetrate vs. Lego
Penetrate 41, Lego 50
Penetrate: Creature, Wax, Bacon, Downfall, Trasher
Lego: Zizzo, Sakke, Mikkiz, Kornflakes, dreamwin
This game had more 2-fers in it than the amount of League of Legends or Anime references in Thunder chat. From the beginning it seemed that Penetrate was outmatched by Lego's Euro-lag and strays. Creature was trying hard to headband and keep his squad in the game but Wax and Trasher proved to be too heavy to carry. Downfall choked as well from 7-5 (?) to 7-10. This was probably the biggest let down, as Downfall was hitting some lucky shots as well as rushing adequately (enough to beat Lego). However, dreamwin was fearlessly flying around as usual and was accompanied by Sakke's random strays. Zizzo was staying in the back pressing tab and was 3-1 pretty late in the game. Eventually he got 13 of his prayers to hit. Kornflakes and Mikkiz had to be carried, but this was far from a huge burden for the rest of Lego as Penetrate did themselves in.
HOT: dreamwin 14-9 and an MVP
NOT: Downfall 7-10 and an incredible choke that led Penetrate to a loss that should not have happened.
