Ok, let us first look at our ladders. TWDD: 22 squads. TWJD: 24 squads. TWBD: 16 squads. Now, I know most of you watch soccer or hockey or some other sport. You ever realize the teams there, when talking about qualifying for World Cup or some other competition, are divided by ranking into groups? Wouldn't that be a great idea to do with the TWL qualifications as well? Let me ellaborate on this.
First of all, before TWD reset and the beginning of TWL qualifying phase, people would play TWD. Right. 1 day before the reset, the teams would be ranked 1-24 (example!) and given the seed. For example, Mellow is #18 on TWDD ladder currently, which means, they get to be 5th seed (if we had groups of 6). Then we would make a draw where each group would have 1 top seed (Fierce, Real, Flame, Gun, Fluke and Soul), 1 2nd seed, 1 3rd and so on. Then the qualifying would begin.
10 games would be played during this time, each on Sunday, so approx. 2 1/2 months (which is how long TWL qualifying lasts normally). Then, the winners and the 2nd placd teams of each group would get a ticket for TWL, while the 3rd ranked ones would battle it out for the top 2 spots to qualify. The remaining teams that wouldn't make it to the TWL, would then play in the TWL-Amateurs League, which would be hosted same time as TWL (Sundays). That way, every squad willing to put time and effort into TWD and TWL qualifying would get a chance to taste TWL, even if Amateur League. And there, TWL pros could look for newcomers/talented players to recruit for next TWL. Oh, and the winner (and maybe the 2nd placed team) of the Amateur League could be granted a pass to next TWL.
Sure, I'm talking about this from Mellow's point of view, but many people here play a lot of games, but we're not stacked like Fierce or Real, we just have many active people, willing to play TWD on a daily basis. Plus the groups thingie has been bugging me for some time now, and I really like it, so why not try it?
