2$ for people who want to join late during Locks
    Prevents hoppers
    More competition

This is a great idea 2 dollars per person is cheap could go higher to make the pot bigger but good to start small. Think this would not only make twl a bit more exciting and axing someone from roster during twl would cause 10x more drama. Vote YES to paid entry!

this would be edging on the legality of such, donations are one thing, giving away money another, but to actually charge players to play (for a US based game) gets dicey if its not reported properly

also, paying to play is what killed the game in VIEs hands, alot of people would just not play reguardless of how much it is

yeah, you have to word it carefully, like a parking donation at your county fair

and still, some people wont pay to compete in a free-to-play game

could you elaborate a little on why people would pay to play a free game when they know they will lose?

for many years there has been about 2-4 squads in every league that have had a chance of winning. Next season will be the same. Same as always. Regardless if the entry fee is ridiculously small the only thing that will happen is gonna be more stacking, more gap between the good and the bad squads. Why would those who are realistically on the bottom tier want to pay to get their asses beaten?

IF TWL becomes pay to play, I would suggest that the starters, 2 subs and the active captain would get the money and those people only.

so you basically want to make the leagues, which are already a retarded elitist circlejerk, even more elitist by instituting an entry requirement?

              a monetary entry requirement?

the leagues need less elitism, not more

of course the people that will support this will be the people that plaster their sigs with TWJD CHAMP THIS and TWDD WINNER THAT so everyone knows how big their continuum e-peen is

better idea: amateur league, where high level players on high level squads are made captains of amateur squads, where the captains don't fight, but train the newbs and pit the new squads against each other in a tournament

                  Your post is literally worthless

No, he doesn't want the leagues to be a circlejerk? they already are

No, he doesn't want a monetary entry requirement? that's the whole point of his post

No, the leagues should have more elitism? that's idiotic, leagues and continuum as a whole are dead in part because of rampant elitism

No, the people that brag about winning leagues won't support getting money from winning leagues? what the fuck

No, amateur league isn't a good idea to get new players into competition? have fun watching the same handful of people brag about being good at a dead 2d spaceship game.

you are the one that needs to try again.

First off, how many TWL seasons have you played?
How much time have you actually spent practicing in whatever league you think you're good at?
Before you try and imply anything about my signature, I didn't just start playing this game and become good at it. A lot of people in this game have much room to improve in other ships and other leagues but they choose not to, I remember seeing that 1 league list not too long ago, and it's kinda sad. I'm on every day or almost every day and I play a couple of BD's to keep myself in shape, from what my memory is telling me, I have NEVER seen you base, or even in JD arenas. I wouldn't know about WB. So why don't you start playing and practicing instead of trying to input this stupid "TWIB" thing. You think playing two times a week in an intermediate league will make you a better player?
We've already tried a dam TWIB or did you forget? With an active zone before when it had 400-600 players we tried it, cause I was part of it, and staff didn't come through with it, and before I think we had double the staff members than we do now, so what makes you think this is going to succeed now?
If the donation money that we currently have isn't really going to be spent on advertising or you guys are still "looking" somewhere to put it, instead of slowly giving it away on weeekend events, you might as well put some aside and make an incentive as a TWL prize.
Is it the 2-4 squad's fault that they are active during offseason and on-season to be the favorites in the finals or last round of playoffs every season?
Why don't people actually start playing and practicing and trying to become better? Why can't we give players some type of prize incentive for them to actually play?
Cause I know how next season is going to be, and I'm sure you aren't even going to be part of it.
I remember when I was a bad player I spent countless hours in pub and in ?go base and playing BD's getting good at the ship I play now. Why can't other players do the same? Are they always going to stay at the same skill level they are now?
And nah, I don't think stacking will happen if the roster limits are strict. Not for 3 league squads anyways.

Atleast make some type of incentive prize for the TWL winners or something. Change it up. Maybe it'll bring more competition. Sry for double post won't let me edit

You are exactly the kind of elitist league faggot that has killed TW. Immediately trying to compare your "experience" in leagues to mine, as if that makes any kind of difference on anything or makes you seem better.

You say you are on every day practicing. No new player is going to spend every available moment to train in a 10+ year old 2d spaceship game, especially when the people that have been playing it for most of those 10+ years dominate the game and refuse to give anyone else the chance.

My suggestion for an amateur league is necessary now, to give people that aren't part of the top 5 squads that dominate TW leagues a chance to play and get better.

However, no new player will ever be able to beat veterans at this game.

With your reasoning, TW will just die out because nobody wants a new player on their team and there is no way for new players to get into leagues at all.

The donation money should be solely used for advertising because all the money given to the winners of leagues will circulate among the same handful of people.

"Why don't people actually start playing and practicing and trying to become better?" because people can't get on the same level as those 4-5 squads.

"Why can't we give players some type of prize incentive for them to actually play?" because there is no incentive for people to enter leagues when the same people win all the time.

"Are they always going to stay at the same skill level they are now?" YES, BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY FOR THEM TO GET ON THE SAME LEVEL AS ESTABLISHED SQUADS.

Having a cash registration requirement only shows new players that the leaguers are a group of people far better than them, that they will never be able to reach.

You want TW to spend the money to improve the zone? Spend the money on an amateur league like I described with the money going to the new players. That way, new players have a chance of winning money by playing against people of their skill level.

Let new players play against new players and fuck the elitism.

10+ years? I've played this game for a good 5-6 years, so buddy, you're wrong, you've been playing this game longer than me and look where I'm at compared to you. No new players will ever beat a veteran? Lol, yeah right. I'm pretty sure I was a new player when I beat -F- in the finals for my first TWL title. But I'm sure you weren't there, you were probably in pub talking to wiibimbo.

You're still attacking your experience vs mine and still haven't addressed anything of value. Again, you are nothing more than an elitist faggot.

Your experience is not the experience of everyone that has downloaded this game and bounced off it because of elitists everywhere in the game, not just leagues and not just TW. Leagues have to become more accessable to all people, even new players.

My idea doesn't even interfere with the "true" leagues at all. It only gives new players the chance to get better by fighting with each other. Only an elitist would discourage something like this.

I honestly don't care if there's a TWIB or not, maybe you can go host it like thix tried a few years back and see how you can handle it. It'll be hard putting a TWIB league in if alot of people aren't going to input their support, especially with the limited staff we have.
My experience is the reason why I have the "signature" you were mocking me on. Maybe if you spent the same amount of time I have practicing you'd be in the same boat I'm in.
Make an incentive for the TWL winner, get something interesting going.
