i've been losing twl for years because I just didn't have the added incentive. now, with 2 dollars on the line, I will probably play 3x better. making free fun games pay to play has never failed, look at diablo 3, it is so much fun.

I hate the whole "elitist" argument. The elites are elite because they practiced and became superior in game. There's nothing more to it. You can complain all you want, but TWL should not change just to accommodate the new players. TWL was built by the veterans, and is only still functional because of the veterans. The amateurs may never be able to beat the veterans, but the amateurs also haven't put half as many hours into this game as the veterans.

TWL should stay the same as it is now until the zone dies. Any other amateur league or whatever, that should be a separate side project.

The semantics of "elite" isn't the problem, it's the fact that the "elite" of leagues actively shun anyone that hasn't played TW for as long as they have, see mm89's "responses" (read: idiotic, thoughtless insults) against me, and the attitude toward pub.

Being good at the game is one thing, but being good at the game and insulting people based on skill level alone is another, something that shouldn't happen and must change if we somehow get a large influx of new players (lol) , like getting on steam (lol x2) , or running a successful advertising campaign (lol x infinity)

I don't think anyone has said that TWL itself should be changed to accomodate new players. An amateur league would have to be run seperate from TWL, especially for my idea, where skilled players would captain teams of new / less experienced players.

Amateur league isn't a threat to established players. In fact, established players should be enthusiastic about attracting new people to play in pubs, in league, and just play the game period.

League players that consider attracting new players to be a threat to the game are the type of elitist idiots that have contributed to the death of the game as a whole. That's the elitism that I have been referencing.

We don't need to focus efforts on veterans because veterans play the game already, and will play the game until it eventually completely dies. We should instead focus on making the game more attractive to new players.

So we should just abandon the new players because they will never be as good as people that have played the game for years? Again, same line of elitist thinking that has contributed to the death of Continuum.

there always seems to be someone mad at me when I play pub, and it's usually because I'm killing them over and over. see: SkylarLaine in x

Or if it's me telling people to terr or get out of jav or lev, it's because the game is dead and isn't attracting any new downloaders, so I treat anyone not being useful to the team as someone choosing specifically to be unhelpful, as opposed to someone that doesn't know better. If we were to get a sudden influx of new players (lol again) from a new ad campaign (lol x2 again) , then I would be more lenient to that 6th jav on our team that just tk'd everyone in FR, because he would probably be just a new player learning how to aim.

For someone who's for promoting a new league to build upon the already formed TWL, you spend all your time in pub and suck at this game. Gtfo of pub plz and actually experience what is already here before you begin promoting your dumb ideas.
