Of course it happens, but in that case, the real squad has a chance of keeping them, because they're a real squad. Nobody wants to be considered a "trainee".. if a real squad will take them, they'll go.http://www.trenchwars.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15100 - Gallileo's racist thread

I got STONERZ doing this a while back. We started a farm squad cause BH822 and JDM37 were having a hard time trying to figure out who is who, and who wanted on and whatnot. The farm squad added much organization to the whole mess. So I'm all for the farm squads. $$$

Farm teams generally wont work for SS Reason: the people who stand a chance to get into the squad after much training would probably be better off joining a straight up squad instead of a farm squad. The people who would join farm squads should stick to pubs.
Meaning: If you're good enough to be trained, you're better off joining another squad and getting experience there than being stuck in a farm squad. If you're not good enough to be trained, stick to pubs.
In all of my experience, there is a single point where people can be trained. That point is right when their aiming/dodging mature, but they havent committed themselves to a style. I have dueled many people who want to be trained, however, 90% of those are too newbie or too vet to be trained. (IE: You cant teach an old dog new tricks, but you cant teach a new dog really cool stuff until they understand the basics and then some). The remaining 10%, even if I train them for a month, they would still be no match for anyone in Rampage. So, training them to be in Rampage is kinda useless... If its true up on top of the skill ladder, the same applies on lower levels because the "trainer" doesnt have as much skill/experience to pass down to the "trainee"...
Hope you understand what I'm saying... Sure, this whole farm squad idea might sound good on paper, but in reality, its just a waste of time and effort. If you really wanted to make a difference, pick random people and train them... thats what I do when I'm bored. I hope that when I'm done, maybe 5-10 more skilled players will pop up and my time wont go to waste.

Old idea
I think everyone and their dog has had this idea at some point. Doubt it can really work the way its creators would want it to...and doomed to fail. It'd be funny if the farm team got better than original squad. BUt more likely as everyone has said the good ones would get recruited by other squads if not picked up quickly by the hosting squad.
Back when I first started playing TW I was told Pallies was a farm team from Paladen who went rogue.I came, I saw, I lagged out...
