TWLB SemiFinals Hot or Not
Pandora (8-1) vs. Penetrate (7-3)

An epic, 37 minute match between the two titans started off with a blistering pace as Penetrate plowed through Pandora with a beefed up overspid line featuring domi (147-75) and Solace (143-78), who were absent in the 15-10 loss to Pandora during the regular season two weeks prior, alongside veteran Trasher (125-70).
The two-time champs closed-in with some solid under-spidering early from Acidbomber (130-97, 3 teks) and zhou (109-102), as Penetrate held an early 6-1 lead before Pandora finally broke a stalwart cram held by Veloce (2.9 RPD) and fermata (2.7 RPD).
Pandora finally steadied itself 10 minutes into the game, behind a blistering effort from Leitz with a huge 151-91 performance, alongside great work from Shayde (127-106, 3 teks) and sarger (122-96) who pushed hard as Leitz cleaned up behind them. They actually got outkilled by the domi/Solace/Trasher combo, but their tough play and selfless pushing gained crucial time and space for Kate and Spezza to go to work under, and work they did.
As the overspids, behind meritorious performances from Mattey (2.9 RPD) and Vatican Assassin (3.0 RPD) fought Pene to a veritable stalemate, Spezza (121-77, 2 teks) and Kate Upton (119-93, 2 teks) came back strong from early defeats to Acid/zhou and went ham in the mid-to-late game, decimating the opposition, rolling through Pene's flank and leaving Cintra (55-12, 2 Teks) no where to go, causing him twice as many deaths as any game he's played this year, and proving themselves the more valuable under pair, despite good play from Acid and co. Cintra was not having an off-day, playing amazing in the first half of the game -- he simply ran out of ports/bursts and there was no escaping under.
Cape (64-7, 2 teks) was huge, brimming with confidence, attacking Cintra at every turn, insanely aggressive and a big help to his overspids with his plethora of bullets, despite a few questionable deaths resulting from it. Like a fine wine (or a MILF), he just got better with time.
Panda finally regained the lead at 9-8 and never looked back. A juped flag in Pene's favor, and losing the FR to a Vatican lagout (forcing Zidane into action for several minutes) did nothing to hamper their determination for their first title, as they forged an ironclad cram with Sarger/Kate rotating into the coffins and disrupting the Pene break over and over, as the clock hit 17-15 then eventually 20-16.
A fantastic game to watch, and excellent play from both sides, with a well-earned victory from a full Pandora line.
MVP: Spezza/Kate Upton, 122 kills apiece, 4 teks, some beast pushing in the under, cram, and mid and leaving Cintra no under to escape to despite his strong early play. Pandoras overspids were the difference two weeks ago; their underspids were the difference today
Honorable Mention: Leitz, with a huge 151 kill game, continuing his strong season, even if his fellow overspids deserve alot of the credit.
NOT: Everyone on Pene played hard, they played a lot less passively than two weeks ago. They didn't lose so much as Pandora won, hard to fault anyone.
Worth noting Cape tried to port-trap Cintra twice, and Cape failed and died both times. LOL gg.
Revenge (9-0) vs. Sweet (5-5)
20:00-10:08
Sweet finished their season on a good note, putting up a respectable 10 minutes against the juggernaut Revenge onslaught they faced. They were aided by a few hilariously bad Thix (39-3) deaths (Eelam killed him in 3 different ships just to prove he could do so: terr, spider and jav!), which entertained the crowds, giving Sweet a few solid crams, but ultimately was nowhere near enough to give Revenge a scare as he was relatively serviceable otherwise, as glavitik (118-73), squall (112-60), hellkite (112-64), MM God (105-48) and skatarius (98-63) mowed the opposition down and held cram the majority of the game making for an easy win.
menelvagor (3.0 RPD) continued his strong play, although cranium is listed as having 0.7 RPD and 4 TKs -- so we now clearly know who wears the pants in this relationship. Haven't seen anyone carried so hard since Sir Edmund Hillary got carried up Everest by a sherpa and took all the credit. mene call me if u need a good chiropractor's #.
Burnt (30-8) was solid, coming off a great Quarter-Finals performance, but there wasn't much he could do, while Zeebu (112-74) put on a spectacle in spider despite his squad being outgunned. Ra (99-64), Jones (92-68), and Engineers (80-78) were solid, with Eelam going multi-ship and earning all 3 teks -- the Triple Crown, joining Secretariat, Affirmed, and Sarah Jessica Parker's face as the most renowned thoroughbreds in history.
Riverside (2.8 RPD, 25 kills) and Hulk (2.8 RPD) were solid in shark, but not able to match their heroics of last week in toppling Cobra.
Great season for Sweet, and kudos to Revenge for reaching the final undefeated!
HOT: glavitik, 118-73 performance, once again leading the push amongst a group of aggressive and talented spiders
Honorable Mention: Eelam, 3 teks in 3 different ships, amazing!
NOT: cranium, 0.7 RPD and 3 TKs, awful! stick to jav
NOT: cig. He knows why.
FINALS PREVIEW:
Revenge (9-0) vs. Pandora (8-1)
Revenge edged out Pandora 15-14 in WEEK 1 action, but look for that to have little to no bearing on the finals, especially since Pandora's lineup was in disorder, featuring Cape in spider, diakka in terr, and no Spezza/Leitz/Kate in sight.
I thought Pandora had the best chance to win for several months prior to TWL until they went inactive, but that Round 1 loss to Revenge seemed to whip them into shape, and they're now active and showing full lines every week.
Revenge has been a beast all season, but they also scraped by two 15-14 wins vs. Dudgeon and Pandora, and Penetrate only showed a half-line vs. them, so they've been fortunate as well. Terr is a huge question mark, as Cape is proven, clutch, and playing amazing, while Spezza/Kate are the undisputed best under combo in TWLB. That's two huge edges against Revenge, who haven't faced a formidable under (Kate/Spezza didnt show vs them, and neither did Acidbomber.)
Revenge has the best overspid line in the game, and Cran/mene have been the best shark duo, so the question becomes: Is there enough of an edge in their overspids/sharks to compensate for the huge advantage in terr/underspids that Pandora has?
I'm not convinced there is, Pandora's over has evolved from a mediocre revolving-door policy to a honed katana in the past month, Shayde/Sarger/Leitz/Ease aren't going to be losing too many more overbattles than they're going to win, while Mattey/Vati/Zid have had almost as stellar of a season as Mene/Cran, but again, I don't think it's a salient edge.
They're going to need Thix to be huge and not crumble under pressure like he did in the TWDTB final last year, because Cape is the best terr in the game and he certainly won't. So while Revenge has had the perfect season, and have been amazing all season long, I think they're going to encounter significant issues with Spezza/Kate under and the lack of a Tier-1 terr.
Either way, both squads are basing behemoths with tons of depth, so look forward to a tight and exciting match! Good luck to both squadrons!
