TWLD SemiFinals -- HOT or NOT
Pandora (9-1) vs. Sweet (7-3)
Video Highlights of all three rounds:
Round 1
After closing out Potenza earlier in the day 50-37, 50-27, Sweet looked poised to clinch a Finals berth as they came out the gate with a merciless demeanor, as Engineers (12-7) and Dak (12-8) rampaged across the screen, with Riverside (11-8) not far behind, with respectable numbers from Burnt (8-5) and Jones (7-4) as well.
The Sweet swarm swooned to a sizzling 50-32 win as only wb veterans Ease (10-10) and Mythril (11-10) managed to get over 5 kills, with atrocious performances from Baserman89 (4-10), Obi (2-10) and beam (5-10). Sweet went on to win 50-32.
Pandora looked disjointed and cold while Sweet looked poised and relaxed, teaming well.
HOT: Engineers, Dak, and Riverside -- combining for a red-hot 35 kills
NOT: beam, good job being the most active player on your squad and still getting outplayed by a jav who's played 8 dds this year, you useless piece of shit
Round 2
Pandora made some huge changes Round 2, taking out beam/Obi and putting two javs in their place. Obi's been inactive, so no shame there, but again, wanna point out javs more useful then beam in an LD. Cape and Amputate went straight to work, crushing the opposition with scintillating moves, great aim, good awareness and rushing in for the kill at the right times.
Not only did they carry their weight, they led the pack as Amputate dropped a ridiculous 15-6 performance, with Cape not far behind with 11-7! Mr. Consistent Ease dropped a solid 10-6, Baserman89 clocked a much-improved 9-6, while Mythril had a paltry 5-7, but led the rush and did a great job luring as he zigged and zagged across the screen helping his team generate kills, winning by the exact same score as Round 1, 50-32.
HOT: Amputate, cutting off the competition at the knees with a scything 15-6 performance. Nice work!!!
Honorable Mention: Cape, for a saucy 11-7 despite never wbing!
NOT: Riverside, with a terribad 3-10 after trash-talking Pandora and saying they shouldn't even be in playoffs -- Ouch!
Round 3
This started out as a long and drawn out war of Attrition (rather watch paint dry than go through these LD vids looking for highlights, its like 80% off-screen strays -- wbs are great but league needs changes, boring as fuck) and it felt like it was 1-1 ten minutes in...zzzz... eventually around 20-20 the stalemate ended as Pandora began to edge away, as multi-finals MVP Ease (12-5) took it up a notch and flambeed the competition with some great mid-range play, as Amputate continued to dazzle with a sublime 12-9. Mythril once again led the way, drawing innumerable lures and providing some great coverage and darting pursuits, pulling a great 10-9 along the way. Cape (9-8) continued to carry his weight as Baserman89 notched a nice 7-3, helping to pull away from Sweet as they imploded mid-way.
Engineers (11-10) and Riverside (8-10) played well and did all they could, but the dead weight and early deaths of Jones (4-10), dak (4-10), and Burnt (7-10) were too much to bare -- if only River/Engi could clone themselves! 50-34 final score.
I haven't been following LD at all, but I really thought Sweet was going to take this in two -- congrats to Pandora for some brilliant Round 2 changes and a fantastic comeback!
HOT: Ease, with a sniper's 12-5 and great play across all three rounds!
NOT: Jak and Dakster, mirror 4-10s.
Fierce (10-0) vs. Cobra (6-4)
Round 1
Apok returned to action as the undefeated 2-time champs lumbered into the Semi-Finals, amassing a monster 16-8 performance against the gunmin, as the defacto Captain lead the way.
Fierce mainstay DEEZ NUTS (11-9) and Lasenza replacement Vash (11-6) notched impressive stats as well, with Skepsis posting a respectable 7-10, whilst death row was subbed out with an uncharacteristic 1-5 from the -F- vet, leaving Raazi (4-3) to hop in and provide a great sub.
Raid kept it close most of the game, with a showstopping 16-10 from ex-Fierce starter Racka, with only vys (9-10) pulling his weight alongside him.
bon, who'd been a force all year, could only muster a 5-8 before being subbed (a bit premature?) while Reaver underperformed with a 6-10, with Best going anti-ham (kosher?) with a meagre 4-10 effort.
Fierce closed out strong with 4 players staying in the game, winning 50-41.
HOT: Apok, a monumental 16-8 performance
HOT: Racka, also going ham with a 16-10 score in a loss
NOT: Best (4-10), too good to be negging like that, and 3x champ death row going 1-5 in a win
Round 2
Fierce really pulled away round 2, with TWLD legend DEEZ NUTS bringing his A-game, rocking the opposition with a sumptuous 13-5, with Skepsis hot in tow with a blazing 12-3, and not to be outdone, Vash the Stampede trampling over Raid with an eyebrow-raising 9-1 -- Wowsa!
death row managed to stay afloat with a 6-8 as Apok clocked out early with a solid 10-10.
Raid spread their kills evenly, ranging from 4-10 to 5-10 to 6-10 to 7-10 -- I've seen more diversity at an all-white Republican retreat.
Fierce rolls into the Finals with a dominant 50-27 performance.
HOT: Deez Nuts, 13-5
HOT: Skepsis, 12-3
HOT: Vash, 9-1
HOT Player of the Week: Mythril! While others boasted more impressive scores, Mythril led the rush across all three games, zooming North-South across 3-4-5 enemy players and luring kills left and right for his team, allowing scintillating performances from Amputate, Ease and Cape, and yet still posting respectable numbers despite the high-risk play and selfless dedication to the win -- Kudos!
NOT Player of the Week: beam. useless, 1-leaguer who can't even pilot that ship decently despite being the most active player on his squad, getting outshone by 2 javs, and being a dumbfuck troll who spells like a 2nd grader.
