Playoff Format

I imagine it'll be a normal type thing where #1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3... but will it be interconference or will teams play squads from their own conference in the playoffs?

Also is it gonna be double or single elimination? Will they change it back to 2 rounds or keep it 1?

This was posted a long time ago but here it is again:

Best 4 teams from each conference will make it into the playoffs (for total of 8 teams per subleague).

Round 1: 1vs4, 2vs3 for each conference.
Round 2: Conference Finals
Round 3: League Championship


Each game in the playoffs will be a best of 3 rounds, 20 minute rounds. Think TWD with 20 minute rounds. Even TWLB will use this sytem for playoffs.

There has been suggestion for a best of 5 rounds for the finals. 2 rounds on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. This is just an idea, but what do y'all think?

i like the idea. some squads are better on saturdays, some on sundays, the break in between gives them a chance to play all their players as well as regroup after the first day

5 rounds for the finals would be awesome. Why would you make it 20 minute instead of 30 minutes?

I guess it doesn't really matter... but I figure no one wants to play for 5 hours if you're in all three playoffs lol cause that would seriously suck. That and you won't be able to have a game at 3 then 4 anymore.. it would be done with 1/2 hours and we'd have to change how everything worked on the website

Why 1v4 and 2v3?
Normal tournament formats uses 1v2 and 3v4 each team from a different poule/conference.

It's basically MLB type formatting. Assuming the squads are ranked according to skill, the #1 squad is granted an easier game while 2 and 3 duke it out for the right to play the #1. Then when conference play is sorted out, East and West Meet for the World Series (if you will) of TWL.

But since the splits are basically just arbitrary, it might sound a little silly.

I have never been to, seen or heard of a tournament where 1v2 and 3v4 happens... Maybe in some weird euroleague football The only point of seeding is so that the 1st place team gets an easier game to the semis.

This system would penalise you for placing high in your conference. The whole idea of going for first place is that you get a better seeding for playoffs.. ie: playing the 4th place team.

i think the other way of doing it, so that you pull the best out of both conferences....

Conference A 1st vs Conference B 4th
Conference A 2nd vs Conference B 3rd
Conference A 3rd vs Conference B 2nd
Conference A 4th vs Conference B 1st

that way if the conferences were not equally ranked talent wise.... the cream of both conferences rises through the playoffs

This idea rejects any sort of "conference pride" where people cheer for the teams from their own conference. I dont think theres much conference pride, so this idea gets my vote

yeah but the conferences aren't very even talentwise. I'd like to see a cross-conference playoffs, but whatever. Rules probably won't be changed now

if it's disoblige vs pallies in final plz make it best of 5 rounds. i'm waiting all season for this and i wouldn't like it to end in just 1 game.
