As much as this pains me I am submitting an appeal over our twl match with Pandora. The info I am submitting to the best of my knowledge is accurate and truthful. I do believe the outcome and fairness of our match has been affected by a last minute ban of 2 of our starting line. The players involved are siblings Sawyer and Fatrolls. I believe it was Conspiracy or undercut who has banned them for double squadding on Paladen as a single player taking up 2 roster spots.
I assume the reason being applied with this is Rule 4.01 C) which states it is illegal for ,"A player(one not two) that is rostered more than one time on the same Trench Wars League squad." followed by "Instances of double-squadding will not be tolerated. If a player has someone else who uses their computer for TWL (i.e. a sibling), those players are expected to notify the Trench Wars League staff prior to participating in any League matches. "
Ok so it does say this. I never knew they were using the same ip address. Since I am not staff how could I?? Both of them had no clue there was even a sibling list let alone they needed to let staff know they were siblings. I didn't know this rule either but I did know they were brothers. There is ample evidence they are not one person as there are multiple games listed in TWD where both have played at the same time/round. I realize now that there is this rule about siblings. Why it is written though is beyond me. Why is it a players responsibility to tell staff about this obscure rule they themselves don't even know about. Isn't that why we have staff to figure out what is going on with the players in the zone and correct them if they are in violation. It really is an obscure illogical rule and in all my years with TWL have never heard of any squad dealing with a player ban due to this.
For the sake of fairness to them and our squad I have to try and make an appeal as we were never notified by staff of any violation. This was an abrupt decision by staff and we had no notice only to find out that their names were disabled when we tried to add our starting line. It really shook up our start, created chaos, and forced a change to our game plan. It really was quite an annoying surprise. Why are we punishing them and our squad by banning them all season too for this ??? They both had no idea about the sibling list. Sawyer is from EG and is a recent transplant to trench wars and as a result fatrolls has been able to play unnoticed as having a sibling for quite some time. No staff ever bothered them about being siblings before while on Paladen either. It just seems like a big "GOTCHA" about something where there is no real abuse going on.
I find it unreasonable and illogical to require players to notify staff too when they don't even know the rule exists. I believe it should be staffs responsibility to cross check players ip addresses and let squad captains and the players involved know when something like this is an issue. It also seems quite illogical to issue a ban for this infraction when it just involves 2 players /brothers using the same ip.
The double squadding rules are in place to stop cheating and abuse, not to stop players who have done nothing wrong other than not notify staff they are siblings. Is this really worthy of a ban and disrupting our game plan in TWL?? Sawyer was our mvp last week and was one of the hot of the week players. Removing them I think absolutely put us at a disadvantage. For example, I spent all night awake fixing a frozen burst pipe in my crawlspace and was a complete zombie and in no way wanted to play today. Yet I had to. and sucked , ya I always do w/e but this is besides the point. I wasn't supposed to play.
In TWD this has never been an issue for us/them so why now?? It seems like a totally unfair rule and any mod who quickly delves into their twd history can clearly see they are 2 separate and distinct players. Why are we treating this as some terrible infraction that bans them from playing a match and then on top of it banning them for the whole season ??? The infraction seems like petty semantics that has no real player abuse within its basis/realm and many oh us feel that staff taking action over this was unwarranted. They also both went to ?go TWD arena after the match and flew around fighting each other in front of staff to prove that they are indeed just brothers/2 players who are in no way cheating the system so..............
1) I would like to make an appeal concerning our Pandora match as I feel staffs actions by banning our 2 starters and giving the captains zero notice definitely affected our game plan and chances of competing.
2) I would like to make an appeal to staff to not force a season long ban against these two sibling players because they didn't notify staff about staffs own rules concerning the sibling list. (I really don't get the logic at all here) It is sooo obvious they are player(S) and not a single player abusing because of the twd history they share playing in multiple games and same round scenarios logged with Paladen .
Again, It really bothers me I am doing this appeal. I'd much rather spend my time on other things and just enjoy the TWL experience with the team we have put together for Paladen this season but I do feel it is appropriate as staffs decision directly impacted our match and I find the logic behind it unreasonable.
Thank you . Paladen Cap) Jessup
