Week Wait To Join TWL Roster After Joining TWD Roster: Interfering with Hardlock

Explain why Casket could join TWL roster while players on Wolf who joined TWD same day as Casket could not be added to TWL roster?? We all join TWD roster on our squads on the 26th, yet only Casket seems to be allowed to join a TWL roster. Explain.

I've seen like 5 threads this TWL posted over the confusion of the eligibility wait. Hard lock seems to be causing even more confusion. I think there is a problem with the clarity and how the rules concerning this are written. I do think these rules should definitely be updated and made more concise before next season

From my understanding a 1 week wait is needed and 1 game missed for a new player who just joined a TWD roster. This was for soft lock though.. how hard lock works in a situation like yours exalt is beyond me.

Some of the confusion people are having is a result from staffers adding the players themselves to TWL rosters before they should be. There is a clock and captains can mostly deal with all this themselves. That said there is a glitch in the system that does happen where staff needs to step in. Fridays the site closes and bars captains from making any changes until Monday. Players who join on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays fall in this glitchy timeframe and really should be the only time where a staffer should step in and add players to a TWL roster since a captain can't.

Another confusion is the "Player eligibility clocks stop when a round starts rule". I have heard many staffers use this rule but for the life of me have never found it in the rules listed. If in fact this is what everyone wants to agree on we need to have that written concisely in the rules too. In my opinion though it should just be a 1 week(168 hours)/1 twl game missed. It would be much simpler. Round starts negating a players wait clock just seems like an unnecessary and confusing rule where it is possible for a player to need to miss 2 twl matches not 1. It gets confusing..

3.07 Hard Lock
All Trench Wars League rosters will experience a hard lock after the last Round 3 match. This means that no more roster additions will be allowed.

This could be rewritten perhaps too to address a situation like you are facing.

Jessup is correct. Due to the way the system is, it stops allowing captains to add people to rosters on fridays. To get on a roster during this time, captains have to contact TWL ops to override it. The TWL site has a few bugs like this. So, technically one could have to watch 2 TWL matches if they are manually added after 1pm on saturday as this starts the next round of games.

3.05c Waiting Period
The Standard Waiting Period for roster
eligibility goes as follows: Any player joining a squad for participation in
Trench Wars League (this includes changing names), will be subject to a 1 Round
Waiting Period after being accepted by the squad Captain. Players will not be
eligible to participate in Trench Wars League matches until a round occurs in
which the player cannot play (Example: Players joining the Tuesday after round 3
will not be allowed to play in any games until round 5). Saturday 1PM EST is the
start of the next round.

So, if someone was added between friday, when the system locks, and saturday at 1 pm, they would only have to sit out that sunday. If they are added between saturday at 1pm and before the hard lock, which happens after the final match is completed on sunday, then they must wait another week.

From what it looks like, Exalt, you joined before riverside on sunday. Being as the captain of Wolf contacted TWL ops to get riverside on the roster before the hard lock as you were already on the roster, they chose not to add you to the roster due to them having 14 people already and only 1 spot left. They also contacted us to get swim on the roster later that night after Riverside was added and the hard lock and were declined. Someone then left roster after the hardlock, leaving wolf with 14 players. This is how wolf will stay, as it is too late to add more players. I am sorry Exalt.
