i have said this before, but there has only been one season (the latest one) where my lag most likely was too high to be fair. however, in the past seasons, i have had a solid lag information (minimal spikes, 130ms average latency) which is nothing out of the ordinary and should be expected of an european player. this changed when i moved (due to work) to another town and unfortunately this is the best internet connection that is available for me at this time; had i moved closer to the city i would be using a 4G internet or cable.

yes, it is indeed time to move and bravely take one step into the future instead of reminiscing the past glory days. there wasn't a single time point in time where i was saying that in the past everyone was garbage, which is basically what zidane has been repeating over and over again, and thus you shouldn't try to put any false words in my mouth. i am not zidane and honestly feel ashamed of him with all the garbage he posts on these forums or based on what he says in-game.

the skill and quality of the players (personality aside, as you're about as rotten as one can be based on your last post) has not dropped over the years, however the amount of good players has due to the decline of the player base. if you can't grasp this simple logic into your head then you may very well be on the same level as zidane.

i have spent countless hours in public, helping new players, doing new player initiatives and helping the zone for years -- something you, of any people, should know is rare in this current community. i do not deserve your hate, wherever it may have came from, and would want you to stop bashing me for no good reason.

tl;dr: i am not zidane and thus you shouldn't treat me like a piece of trash. we both don't like him, and i know several of our members (and many other squads have this problem as well) are about as toxic as they can get, but the moment you decide to add me into the same bunch as them is when you also lose all your integrity as a semi-respected player of the community. old players were indeed good, but players nowadays are good as well -- there simply isn't as many good players left because the population has dropped.

edit: i'm a solo player and nothing more, and due to that i do have an ego, and know that i suck in team games. nevertheless, i've seen what the best players could do during their prime (with a few exceptions, pre-2002, most of them being warbirds) and can honestly say that there is still several players that are close to being on the same level as the old top-tier javelin players. it is nothing but ignorance to say anything else, people do not suddenly get worse, the generation of the past were not magical. i too miss the past when you saw tons of squad rivalry and players, but there is no way to get that back.

it is a well-known fact that thunder (or pandora) has some of the worst internet personalities this game had seen since DEA, however most squads are exactly the same and have at least one or two players that are hated by several of the competitive players; you simply have to learn to live with that fact. one could even claim that you are a big troll, and ignorant on top of it at least based on your past (and present) posts filled with hatred and disgust towards other players, but there is no way you could admit it yourself. not everyone is capable of noticing their own flaws and even if they do, they still need the guts to admit their flaws.

i know sika and psymorph well enough to talk about them and their lag accurately, thank you very much. you, however, do not know anything about me and should stop assuming things that simply aren't correct. i have missed a lot of the trench wars history, due to playing other zones that i found to be more competitive or fun at the time, and have no regrets about it.

Hey Turban. The old generation of players was better then yours. Get over it, and stop crying, rationalizing your lag/citing other players/repeating your own opinions, and whining when a vet holds a different opinion/does not agree with you. The consensus is out players who like you like you have pointed out that your lag individually was outrageous in the value game and you should of benched - we have seen it for years with you time and again. I don't think much of your jav ability or Zidane's or the majority of Thunder's, with a few exceptions. I think even less of your piss poor personality's. Far more respect goes to newbie1234 playing pub for the first time. Can you handle that? or will that create a raging egotistical crybaby like Zidane?

only one thing has changed in the past 10 years and that is the amount of active squads and players playing this game. it is ridiculous to say that the overall skill level has drastically dropped over the years when in fact there is still a great deal of excellent players participating in the leagues and tournaments, however it would be accurate to claim that there is far less great players as the population has dropped over the years.

sika had an average latency of 140ms to 160ms with spikes in during that season when he used the name avaruus alus. it has been confirmed that it was sika and he also played with the name avatar for one season with similar lag and tons of people were complaining about it.

well, to his defense, rule used to be fairly decent based on the couple of games that i saw back in the day. never a top-tier player, which he can probably admit himself, but still good enough to carry his own weight. nevertheless, no one can say for a certainity whether the new generation of players are better (based on pure skill alone) than the old players or if the skill levels are on the same level. i do agree that there is way less team-based strategy involved in the games and that there simply isn't as much squad rivarly as there used to be, but no one can blame that on the failures of past TWL seasons -- it all comes down to the decline of the population (which dwindled the amount of active squads participating in TWD) and nothing more. someone might blame staff for the decline and some may blame the players, but ultimately we're all at fault.

i do know for a fact that this zone and many other used to have their server located in finland (teliasonera was hosting company if my memory serves me correctly) and that the americans/canadians were the ones getting accused of lag cheating -- although, it was during the time when most people didn't have access to a decent connection and several were still using dial-up, so i guess that's different when comparing to the current day. it's quite funny how the tables have turned since the servers moved to the US as nowadays most europeans are the ones being called out for lag cheating and abusing their higher latency. oh, the irony.
