4.08 Playoff Ties
By the end of TWL regular season, if two teams have the same record in a league, the playoff spot will be awarded to the team that defeated the other in the regular season. If the teams both won a match against each other, in the league in question, then in TWLD/TWLJ the team with the fewest deaths across those 2 matches will advance or in TWLB the most flag time. If they happened to be tied in the matches against each other it will go to the team with the fewest deaths across the entire season for TWLD/TWLJ or most flag time across the season for TWLB.
If more than two teams are tied, the winner of regular season games between them will get the spot (e.g. Team A beats Team B and C in regular season, then Team A advances). If Team A beat B, B beat C, and C beat A, the team with the most total kills (TWLD/TWLJ) or most total flag time (TWLB) over the whole regular season will be awarded the playoff spot.
If a replacement squad is tied with another squad for playoffs, the squad that played in TWL longer will win the playoff spot.
Any other subsequent amount of ties will be further discussed by League Staff.
there is a good chance that we are going to have a three-way tie in TWLB for the last playoff spot and above you can see the rules we are using to determine the final playoff position. the squads in question are LEGO, Sweet and Royal, and it is assuming that LEGO beats Paladen, Royal loses to Thunder and Sweet loses to Enemy in the last week of the regular season.
we are first checking the head-to-head matches between these squads to determine if one team has a clear edge over one another.
Sweet beat Royal, but lost to LEGO.
Royal beat LEGO, but lost to SWEET.
LEGO beat Sweet, but lost to Royal.
none of the teams will advance based on these matches, and thus it will come down to the total flag time gained and time difference of these teams. it is based on every match of the regular season, as stated above. the team with highest total flag time over the whole regular season will be awarded the last remaining playoff spot.
Sweet has a total flag time of 61 minutes and 53 seconds this season.
Royal has a total flag time of 70 mintues and 27 seconds this season.
LEGO has a total flag time of 59 minutes and 56 seconds this season.
this basically means if LEGO beats Paladen, they will have a total flag time of 74 minutes and 56 seconds, and will need Royal to lose their match against Thunder and hope they do not gain more than 4 minutes and 29 seconds of flag time. Sweet will need a minimum of 13 minutes and 4 seconds against Enemy to beat LEGO in the time difference assuming they win their game, and they also need Royal to lose by a hefty amount to Thunder.
that is if I got my math right.
