TWL 20 6-Team Proposal

The game is dying, the population is shrinking, and TWL is becoming shittier every year, with TWD stalling to a complete halt. Thunder/Dice have won the last 9 TWLJs and face each other in the finals almost every year, Pandora/Dice cores have won the last 5 TWLBs in a row, and Fierce has won 3 of the last 4 seasons (and reached the Finals all 4 times) in TWLD.

Why don't we just arrange ourselves into 6 teams, play each team 2x during the regular season, and 4 teams make the finals? It would take some effort, but we could arrange it so pretty much everyone is playing with people they want to play but in a way that the teams are all competitive across all 3 leagues. This would make winning TWL more meaningful, but without turning it into TWDT, and ultimately, more fun, since every Sunday is competitive and you're always playing with good people.

Please don't start nit-picking the example given, or that so-and-so would never play with x player, or that x team is too strong, this is just what it could theoretically look like:

I don't really mind either way - I already ignore TWL because I know I'll never be on the team that wins it.

I'm much more interested in a good TWD. So as long as we're not forced to play with these ppl in TWD...

twl last season was pretty competitive in all 3 leagues.. not sure why would we shrink or force ppl onto certain teams. also lol 4 teams in finals?

i feel like this is a great idea that would run into problems as soon as people had to figure out the lines or whatever, the 'nit-picking' as you call it. did you try to look at an 8-team setup and not find the lines/depth?

if there was more population/interest you could take a shot at making this an 'experimental' league and running it before TWL proper. idk. it sucks because i think it's clear that TWL competitiveness has definitely been affected by so-called "stacking", but any attempt to enforce segregation of top players would only create more problems than it would fix... well, i say that but it's never actually been tried.

i think one of the problems would always be, how to divvy up the teams. but shit, you have 2 years of klausmetrics to fall back on. at the very least i think this idea should be looked into, if not a model for TWL then at least a model for another league you could do if it looks like TWL 20 wouldn't be competitive/worth putting on.

Yeah it would be fun with some variation of lineups you posted. It looks like *anyone* could win the title and indeed very competetive.

The implementation will be impossible though.

Where is Paladen in this mix? We are getting excited.. I personally think it should stay the same. I'm not quite sure what you are saying here. To me TWL quali's is what makes TWD thrive .. the two go hand in hand.. if we start assuming just the standard playoff teams get in where is the incentive for other players in this. We love TWL and quali's and if we were cut out.. I'd honestly be pretty bummed out. I personally would like to see 10 squads allowed In just because.. it would spred talent around more hopefully.. but as usual the same people will do the same things and not try and do something new. How about apok play with zidane and racka play with lasenza for once sigh hahahah

srsly tho don't make it even smaller .. it brings excitement to a lot of players in this zone and helps twd thrive

Imo we should let all squads active/alive to join TWL (8+ squads) to keep everyone playing

8-10 teams in LD/LJ. 6-8 in LB. The more people active the better. Rooting for the underdog is always fun. I mean there is always a few good upsets every year. Fuck steadman won a LB match as starting terr last season. It doesn't get better then that.... If you have 6 teams there will be angry benchers that will quit game. And or If there were more teams they would be starters. There are so many over looked players that are just as good as any other TWL level player , and or just doesn't get the opportunity. Or doesn't play on a superstar team.

The point you're making about champs winning twl every year shouldn't matter. Let them prove them self's every year.. Upsets do happen..

I don't think making twl more exclusive is a good idea in the long run. Paladen is a good example as to why.

Whatever happened to 3-league squads with < 20 players anyway?

I in theory, this is the same idea as shrinking roster caps. It would essentially cause the same thing. When rosters are allowed to be so robust, people tend to start getting back ups for peoples back ups and hogging all the talent. I think the same idea could be accomplished by shrinking the caps this years as opposed to only having 6 teams. 8 teams could easily be made, but it would take a couple of people to step up to cap those squads, and maybe instead of playing with ALL of your friends, you only play with some? Has it come to the point of us forcing people to split up to save the competition?

I'd also like to say, depite me not completely agreeing with your idea ogron, would you please consider teaming up with turban to run this upcoming TWL? I would also say, I would not be opposed to assisting you 2 if you needed, or not. Either way, you two would do well.
