It was quite unbearable seeing them fight. I also got to see them on pandora chat with zid/ease yesterday fighting of who has the best twdt team....for 3 hours...

well, despite turban's horrible lag cheats, guy likes to put effort into league and does it well. Ogron will have to accept turbans lag hacks like the rest of us. The two work well, and I feel like they would accomplish great things! Patouf double crowning twdt, so ease/zid can fight for 2nd

This idea will give less players play time in TWL therefore they might lose interest and leave the game.
Keeping the zone alive is more important imo. SO id rather have less competition and more activeness.

Where is Paladen in this mix? We are getting excited.. I personally think it should stay the same. I'm not quite sure what you are saying here. To me TWL quali's is what makes TWD thrive .. the two go hand in hand.. if we start assuming just the standard playoff teams get in where is the incentive for other players in this. We love TWL and quali's and if we were cut out.. I'd honestly be pretty bummed out. I personally would like to see 10 squads allowed In just because.. it would spred talent around more hopefully.. but as usual the same people will do the same things and not try and do something new. How about apok play with zidane and racka play with lasenza for once sigh hahahah

srsly tho don't make it even smaller .. it brings excitement to a lot of players in this zone and helps twd thrive

Paladen hasn't made playoffs a single time in like 34 seasons. The activity they bring to twd is clearly good for the zone but you have to understand that your squad is more of a punching bag than a practice tool for people. If a squad accepts a challenge against Paladen it's because they want a free win, not because they're trying to play a competitive match. I really don't care how many times you beat Ossify and Stonerz to raise your twdd rating. Paladen should not be invited to TWL if the goal is to make it more competitive.

My original post actually just bashed claus for adding bad wbs like Jones (yes I mentioned Jones specifically. I'm not just saying his name because I'm responding to his post) to the list but I changed it because I realized it's beneath me to kick people who aren't even high enough in the wb ladder to reach my feet. Paladen doesn't help prepare anyone for anything. The players on Paladen get discouraged because they get the same 2-8 record every year and there's no improvement and no one on the top squads wants to show up to face a squad that bad so they typically end up adding joke lineups.

I've been saying for years that there should be some kind of minor league twl where the winner is auto qualified for twl the following year. They could face people of similar skill levels and then would have a reason to stick together for a while.

I like the idea, TWL is/was supposed to the premier league. Given the shape of the zone, allow these elite vets play with themselves (pun intended). I would only suggest that TWL game times be moved to some week days evening or other non-prime time. These guys have all have played TWL for years, some for decades. Let them battle out the regular season in non-prime times but perhaps hold the championship games on a weekend (much like an All-star game). There is no reason to consume the best times for a group of players who represent this subset of the population. TWD should have the priority since it represents a much larger segment of the population; as such we should not be impacting with an elite and closed league like TWL.

it's a great idea, and proposed a number of times, but is too idealistic to actually work given how our players love to stick together when creating squads, and some may even flat out refuse to play with one another if forced on a squad.

as far as the week day games go, it's something worth exploring.

and for the minor/major league structure, we lack the squads and activity to go through with it -- sadly. else it would be really nice to have, and would promote squad longevity on top of it.

Has anyone ever thought about what this means? Clearly not. Claus, you are missing the point and are contradicting yourself. If you let top 6 squads play, then the final will always be the same. Thunder, Dice, Fierce, maybe a lucky underdog and that's it. Why not make it interesting for the underdogs? Change the system TWL is played in? Make life a little difficult for top teams? I don't have ideas on top of my head right now, but let's say Paladen play Fierce: if they win, they get 3 points, if Fierce wins, they get 1. Motivation my friend. Just a thought. Or maybe even prolongue TWL so it has more appeal, like Turb did last time around by adding more games. Something fun will always arrise from that.

Oh, and you forgot to mention a lot of good players there: Iron, okyo, Tarnish. Bem benched as per se.

Thankfully, Beams javelin skill level is below even that of Paladens. If he ever decides to enter a jd again, I'd advise him to practice on paladen so he can learn the basics of a ship.
