Official TWLB Draft Proposal (outdated -- check newer thread)

Spent a lot of time working on the issues and problems, and I'm 90% sure I've solved TWLB without a draft, and letting most people pick where they want to play, while maintaining balance.

I've ran it by a few people and they all liked the idea more than the current draft proposal, just waiting on Turban to wake so I can run it by him.

Expect a new post within 24 hours with a proposal that I think ultimately will be used for the league.

You are talking to Turban, the guy who is responsible for the failing launch of Steam and the zone dying. He didn't even attempt to accomplish anything so The_Block took over his mess and tried his best on what was given.

Turban has made poor decisions after poor decisions(besides the idea of the double elimination, that was new and creative to the playoff atmosphere). I rather have Undercut, Ricko, Heaven or even Tiny(don't let him host games, he will most likely mess up the scoreboard or tiles of maps or whatever) take full responsibility to lead the season, it is time for a change.

The zone losing population over the last 5 years has little to do with Turb; why blame him? And even if you do blame him, what in the world do you expect these others you recommend will do to turn things around? If they have a plan, then tell them to promote it and let everyone see how great they are and how Turb has missed the bus. (And a plan is not 'gee just keep things the same and we will ride this sinking ship to the bottom of the ocean'). We need specific solutions to the issue, not generic criticism, wishful thinking, or pipe dreams.

If the 'vets' who are not willing to un-stack teams really wanted to, they could go start their own zone and play with themselves (literally and fugitively). They could play against each other and issue little icon rings to each other. Congrats, they really excel at this game. Or they could start showing a little consideration to the zone which has allowed them to play all these years.

I am interested t see what Claus has come up with, hopefully it is not a concession to these 'vets' which has loop holes which will be exploited to stack.

in the current state of the zone i'd say just showing up to play the league is more than enough lol... let's not forget that many of these players have been practicing and playing together for almost 2 decades now. don't punish them by forcing them to split up and play with people they might not even care for during what may become the last seasons they even get to play.

in my opinion talent stacking isn't even an issue here. don't we have enough remaining basing talent between the pandora, dice, dudgeon, penetrate, revenge cores to have at least a few competitive teams? implementing a draft only serves to spread talent more evenly across the teams. i'd rather see a final full of the top 16 basers in the zone than a final between a few of the top 10, a few of the top 50, and potentially even a few of the top 100.

if the problem is just that the basers are being hoarded, then like i said before implement a roster cap. don't try to force the teams to have equal average skill levels, all that does is weaken the competitive element of the league.

I did see "TWLB Draft" in the title though and want to say TWLB =/= TWDT so rename this new will-be-shit league if you're making that drastic of a change )

Even though there maybe 4-6 bd squads out there... Twl could still be fun- ever considered this?

Say if there are only 4 squads- instead of playing 1 game and losing team is knocked out... Make it best of 3 (spread over up to 3 weeks).


Or perhaps even better.

Each squad has gotta face each other 3 times. (If 4 squads, that will be 12 games). 1 game played per week. If a squad wins- they get a point. At the end of the 12 games... The two squads with the most points play each other in final. Final is no dif to how its always been.

Yeh I was thinking there could be but even if there wasn't (next twl)... I guess my idea could keep it fun\ competitive. Idk its hard to get opinions here.
