discussion: double squadding during TWL

Wax had suggested to allow players to double squad during a TWL season as the TWD activity does drop as the season draws longer. We could allow players to be on two squads after hard lock activates while keeping a public list of players that are participating in this activity.

I would like to hear the public opinion before pushing this project forward during my free time. It does have its benefits at the expense of losing squad identity -- more activity and chances for games to be played being the biggest one. We are also considering to reset TWD ladders in the near future.

you don't have to axe anyone. Just only add 20 people to your twl.trenchwars.org roster.

as Raizing said below your post, TWL and TWD rosters are separate. You don't have to axe anyone from your TWD roster, simply make sure you are within the TWL roster limits when doing your roster on twl.trenchwars.org website.

I think maybe look into a version of this, but not this...if that makes any since. The squads will be hurting for activity as it is, so the active ones are going to log on a different name and play with other players while the few that log on every so often are not going to play at all? I think its an all or nothing. Have twl / twd separate completely and people will join all different squads, but you can't split the inactivity into more groups.... That's what javduel/base/wbduel are for. You have already shortened the season, which I think will keep the staleness at a minimum, but 1 good idea + another good idea does not make a better idea. I'm not against the double squadding, but during twl would be 1 hell of a mess.

Too many areas where this could get messy imo. For instance when a player is rostered to both squads that play vs eachother. Also, it allows individually talented players (Trasher, Ease) to have a secondary 'top tier' squad that could massively tilt the balance of certain games. It may also mean that weaker teams attract veterans from top tier squads, resulting in their 'regular' roster benching. Lastly, it punishes teams who choose not to share players. The top 8 squads seem capable of showing a consistent line up, so I find the proposal a little drastic.

If it means preserving the lifespan of leagues (Namely LB, clearly the least competative). I'm all for trialing it. With some stipulations involved of course
