【 TWL 】 playoff information and dates
hey,
as some seem to not be aware, we have changed the playoff format this season to allow most squads to experience the playoffs at the end of the regular season. at this rate the regular season will end on October 18th, and will most likely be followed by the revamped playoff format as we are currently considering to skip the replay and all-star weekend. it is very unlikely that there is going to be a need to have a weekend dedicated for the league, and the fact that we have no one working on an all-star project means that there are no planned events for the weekend to keep the players entertained meaning we would only needlessly delay the league.
similar to the last season, we will allow teams to freely schedule their matches of the earlier playoff rounds, but the most important games will be at a set time and date. you can use the projected playoff schedule below to see the times and dates for this season. the seeds below are decided by the final standings at the end of the regular season, and if there are ties then standard tiebreaker rules will apply.
we will pay close attention to the proposed schedules, and wish the teams to be reasonable with their requests by not spreading the games out too much as we do not want an overly chaotic schedule for the first week with so many games to be played. try to be smart when scheduling the playoff games as it will make everything easier for all of us, and we reserve the right to reschedule matches if they have been horribly planned.
after the first two rounds of playoffs have been completed, we will schedule the rest of the games to ensure that the schedule will run smoothly. some teams will have to play back-to-back with this schedule as we did not want to force the top seed to wait for two weeks before getting their opponent. in the event of games lasting over the allotted time slot, and teams having to play in a different league at the same time, we will simply push back one of the games. it is quite unlikely for this to happen, but it is still a possibility.
teams, try to come prepared as there is a chance that you have to wait for a bit between the TWLJ and TWLB games.
after the semi-final and final of the loser's bracket, we will have the finals in each league. we can still adjust the times of the finals on a need-be basis, but those numbers look good to us as it is nearly impossible for games to go over the allotted time slots, and they are fairly fair for both the North American and European players alike.
