If that guy actually exists (ouch sry about the name) then no I don't know him. Tell him to join up with us in the fall, it's when all the new people join and it's real low pressure.

What/Where is Stuy by the way?

By the way, sorry for ruining your playoff post Epi.

Stuy is one of the 3 big magnet schools in NYC ... out of Bronx Sci and Hunter I think. Stuy and Bronx Sci are ultimate powerhouses at the HS level. Eric Shen used to play for Stuy's ultimate team and the capt of Stuy's team went on to Harvard and is supposedly one of their best skilled players (handler perhaps) even though he's a rising soph. Tell me if you ever get a chance to play Northwestern Univeristy's ultimate team =P.

And sry again bout gettin off topic epi =).

2 endzones, 2 teams of 7 each. You throw the disc around and try to score in the endzones, you can't run with the disk. When it's played competitively it's very intense.

Nationals are being aired on the College Sports Channel at 7:30 the next two Wednesays for those lucky enough to have that channel

This Thread has been Officially HIJACKED

God, I stayed away for ALMOST an entire month, but this is too much. I'm way to much of a disc nut to pass up this thread.

I'm currently playing Summer League down in LA (www.laout.org you gotta love that name) for team white, and I'm still peeling the burnt skin off my arms from Potlatch. Anyone else there btw?

The problem with tomorrow's showing of College Nationals, is that there's pick up at 7, and if I have the choice, I'd rather play than watch. Speaking of Pick-up, did you ever find a good game in Seattle BZ? I'm going to be back for a bit in August.

I found some games, but they all seem to want to start before noon on weekends, so I never went.

However there's no rules or guidelines which say what conference one squad should belong to. I.e. there's no "US Conference" or "European Conference" Naturally this would be a stupid way to divide the teams, but I'm just saying, next season the conferences could be completely different.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but with the current system, there's no insurance that the two best squads will meet in the finals. The second best squad might end up in third place while the third best squad could go as low as fifth. (Assuming that they win their games like good squads should :P)

If it's the two best squads, why not? I for one wouldn't like to see the best squad against the third best squad.

because we don't know who is the best and who is 3rd until they play each other.

chances are, the two teams that make the finals didn't play each other in the regular season, adds a notion of suspense in my opinion.

This form of playoffs doesn't assure that the best two squads meet in the finals, but it assures the best squad in each conference does and I prefer best squad in each conference.
                        I'd rather be SubSpacing.

i'd rather see the playoffs stay as they are, i just don't like the cross conference system, if you are going to do something like that, why have 2 conferences, why not just throw every team into one group and do a 1-8 seeding
That's precisely what they're doing for the National Hockey League and canadian football. In fact, I don't think to have seen any sport working your way, rand.

what are you talking about? i don't pay attention to the cfl outside of the home team, but the nhl has a stay in conference system.

each conference is divided into 3 divisions, with the leader of each division seeded 1-3. (a stupid out of date aspect of the league, but that doesn't matter right now).

the rest of the seedings are done by the standings, with a 1vs8, 2vs7, 3vs6 and 5vs4 first round situation.

after the first round, each conference is seperately re-seeded. say seeds 1,2,6 and 4 make it. the ladder is resituated so that #1 plays #6 and #2 plays #3 (again, this doesn't matter to us as there are only 4 teams per conference in the playoffs).

i don't quite know what you were refering to rma, but the nhl system is currently (aside from the divisions and re-seeding) following the same system that twl has (a stay-in-conference, best from each make it to the finals system).

my random proposition of just throwing all 8 playoff teams into one ladder was just for kicks, i'd rather see the playoffs stay as they are.

and frankly, i'm not sure what you were talking about.

I would suggest the same way with conferences, but with a 3rd place winner, like bronze medal, loser of semi-finals 1 vs loser of semi finals 2
