get rid of the roster lock, let people recruit more, and i'll be happy. What epi points out is why some sort of deterrance for people who want to "jump ship" is required, but he only goes on to say why it was placeed in week 5. The same exact thing could have been done with 3-4 week ineligbility period, but it would have taken into account that shit happens in the weeks that there are delays. Granted delays are inevitable, but this way, people can work around them.

The reason why it's in round 5 was the following. PUSHER and I figured that the later in the season the roster lock was, the more people would leave the "crappy" squads and jump ship to the "good" squads. Why would this be? Say roster lock was in round 8, then you'd pretty much know who was going to make the playoffs and who wasn't. We didn't want a situation where the lower squads would lose their best 2-3 players as this hurts TWL as a whole for the next season.

By having it right at round 5, nothing has been decided yet, and it gives squad leaders the good conscience to know that after this point their rivals have been set and then the competition is solidified.

After this season is over, we'll take a good look at the system and see if it needs revision.

B) Yes, there were delays, we all understand that. But for the most part, it wasn't anything unscripted. (Bar server problems, which complaining about is just about as constructive as complaining about the weather.)
C) Any one person doesn't have to play all 10 rounds. Squads have a roster limit for TWL of what, 30 players? At most, you'd need less than 1/3 of your roster every week.
D) It's an opt-in league. If you don't like it, don't play it. Simple.
E) This TWL has been the best so far, delay-wise.

maybe so, but what about guys who aren't in twl. . . melee's had a few ppl go to twd squads (tards) and come back after and are now ineligible. we also have some recruits from twd squads who aren't eligible.

also, the one thing that doesn't make sense "yah, you can't have any name changes in twl." IT IS THE SAME FRICKIN PLAYER!

I'm very sorry to see Shriek go; I've always considered them to be among the best and they had some great guys.

Naw Cylor i was still the pleasant, helpful, concerned person i am irl when i was on Beauty And im not pessimistic its just that i chose not to involve nearly as much time, emotion, or effort towards this game and its players as i used to because they have been giving me nothing but bs in return. Just a reevaluation of priorities based on recent expiriences hehe. Id say there are only 3 ppl left in this game that i seriously consider friends. Times change, people change, but TW remains the same

Would you like to be in charge of all the people who want to change their names? (i.e. edit the database for every person so that they are eligable, etc etc) Yah it sucks.

Suckyness aside, the other reason is because it's usually good to know who you're playing against (and not have new names to fight against every game).

Hey I dunno, how about a playoff roster lock at like week 5 or 6, no new players after that week could play in playoffs, but could still play in regular twl matches after a 2 week waiting period or something.

i don't like that idea mayo, i don't mind a 2 week delay to clear waivers or something, but if a player is eligible week 10, they should be eligible for the playoffs.

Not true rand ... allowing a player to wait 2 games and then play week 10 allows that player to wait his/her turn to contribute for his/her team. Yes, they can't play in postseason games, but a team needs to decide if it is worth it to play that player even though they know he/she cannot play in the playoffs. It's a balance btwn giving a player experience on the team (and perhaps winning) and perhaps sacrificing the coherence of the team IF they reach playoffs.

Also ... we still can adjust the # of games that someone has to wait in order to play. I suggested 1 game wait for a nonTWL member and a 2 game delay for a TWL member. That can easily be increased to a 2 , 4 game delay respectively. That basically means if you change to a diff TWL team you miss almost half of the reg season.

I have just a few things to say:
1) The squad that is gonna win twlj instead of shriek now is lucky.
2) I think there would have been enough ppl that wanted to carry on, they just were not able to be there at a certain time and respond to any questions for several reasons. ( it is summervacation, and some ppl just get behind of their computers then and go to the beach or on vacation and stuff.
3) While looking at 2, i think that leagues are during summer break has a big factor in the dissolve of shriek.
4) Cause shriek is dissolved, "Pleasant" is gonna own all javthings that are coming up in the future.
5) Annul, ur a fuckin frickin .........(fill in whatever you want) moron for dissolving shriek.(However he's still a nice guy, and live goes on)
6) Eric, if you don't care about ur squad at all, don't join a squad. If ur gonna join a squad, you want it to get good and you want it to play matches and win them. However if there is no cooperation at all, the squad will slowly fall apart, and this didn't happen to shriek, so i really wanne know what exactly happend (but ill prolly never find out)

with that kind of system you could look at a regular season powerhouse and a weak playoff contender.

as long as a player is eligible, i think they should be completely eligible to their squad, if there is a 2 week delay that is their pennance.

why not just make it so a twl rostered player can't leave their squad's twl roster, making it impossible for anybody to play on 2 twl squads at all during the season.

non-twl players can join a twl squad up to, oh i don't know, week 7, with a 2 week eligibility delay.
